I have a structured tote that works well for business. The downside is it isn't packable and it's formal looking. I was looking for something that looks nice but is easier to carry and can fit into a suitcase. This backpack is close to perfect.The pros:- Looks more expensive than it is.- Real leather (I loathe faux leather - it cracks and wears badly)- Lots of internal pockets make it easy to organize contents- Sturdy metal hardware including zippers (plastic zippers look cheap)- Easy to adjust to wear as a backpack or crossbody- When empty it takes up very little room in a suitcase- Surprisingly light! I do a lot of walking and it's easy on my back even when stuffed with notebooks and gear.- Versatile design - works for just about any occasion except very formal, dressy events.- I've been eyeing similar bags made by English satchel companies but they're quite expensive and the leather is stiff and unforgiving.- The leather is soft and durable. Resists scuffs and staining.- Great value!The Cons- You can get a lot of stuff into this bag but it can be challenging to find and remove that stuff. It's basically a narrow, vertical tote bag and things can fall to the bottom. Being narrow means you need to squeeze your hand in and dig around. The pockets definitely help but you can only do so much organizing.- Having said that, a five-stars perfect bag would have a bit more space to make it easier to find items. AND a bit larger to easily accommodate my 13-inch MacBook. As others have said, yes, you can squeeze your notebook in but you have no room to spare and if you're like me, you have all kinds of cords, rechargers, etc that accompany your notebook.Heshe, if you're reading these reviews, please offer one or two additional styles like this one. But one that easily accommodates a 13" notebook for those of us who are road warriors and need something a bit larger than a daypack.I will be your fan forever!
