Review on Acer SB230 Bbix Ultra Thin Technology 1920X1080P, 75Hz, Wide Screen, HD by Ovid Copeland

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exquisite display at an affordable price

When my Acer SB230 arrived, I had a hard time believing there was actually a monitor in the box. I was so used to the big, heavy, clunky monitors of the past that they felt too light. It was well packaged and protected by a foam insert inserted into a thick, form-fitting box. Everything that should have been in the box was there. The only thing I would have liked would have been an HDMI cable. They included a VGA cable, but I didn't want to spend money on a monitor and then get the best possible picture through the VGA input, so I bought an HDMI cable locally. Set Up Time Setting up the monitor was easy and took less time. than 5 minutes. The hardest part was removing the clear protective tape they used on the stand and bottom edge of the bezel. Pros: Lightweight, slim, and ultra-modern, they look thick compared to other monitors. Excellent picture quality, everything is sharp and clear. .The monitor brightness is ready to use. I haven't settled anything. There are no dead pixels on the screen. Non-slip rubber feet keep the monitor perfectly in place. Despite being very thin, the monitor is surprisingly strong and durable. The thin frame surrounding the screen is barely noticeable and almost disappears in a darkened room. It can be tilted back 15-20 degrees - just make sure you hold the monitor top center and bottom center when adjusting. Cons: A few minor ones. No DVI-D connection. No HDMI cable included. (You should have skipped VGA and provided an HDMI cable.) It has no vertical adjustment. 3-3/4" space under the monitor.) They placed the adjustment controls under the bottom right side of the monitor. But now that I've used it for a few days, I'm glad the controls are under the monitor. Of course it's not that convenient to have them there, but the result is a much smoother look.Which I think Acer was trying to achieve.By the way, it's barely visible under the monitor, and when it's on it has a nice navy blue tint. Sceptre, LG, Samsung, ASUS) every time I went back to Acer. In the end, my decision was an Acer SB220Q or an Acer SB230. I chose the SB230 because it had a larger screen (23" vs. 21 ,5") and had faster access time (1ms access time versus 4ms for the SB220Q) Also, because of my eyesight, I wanted a slightly larger monitor e, although normal, not much. At the same time, my desk space is tight and anything else would be unwieldy H. All in all I am very happy with my choice. Sad day. The Acer SB230 replaces my beloved ViewSonic VX2235wm 22" monitor. which finally crumbled to dust after many years of faithful service. Today it turned out to be a lot harder to throw in the trash than I thought. For its time great monitor. That's why I was so close to buying Viewsonic. Either the other reviewer has a "lemon" or they use a VGA cable to connect the monitor. (Don't do this.) One HDMI cable and one decent graphics card makes a big difference in picture quality.I'm using an old Dell 980 Optiplex with an I7 quad core processor, 16GB RAM, an Nvidia GT610 graphics card and the picture on my monitor is fantastic!I just got one Watched an NBA basketball game and felt like I was sitting on the court. There's nothing like that - when you're not in the game. UPDATE: 7/15/19 Six months later I can report that I still love this monitor as much as I do a m day of its introduction. I haven't encountered any problems with this at all. Every pixel on the screen is still perfect, and the picture is still as stunning as when you first turned it on. I have no regrets and would buy this monitor again if I needed another. UPDATE: 10/10/20 It's been almost two years and I'm still very happy with this monitor. It has no dead pixels and still works perfectly. In its price range it is hard to beat in terms of price, quality and durability.
