Review on 🧾 Nakabayashi Co., Ltd. 3-in-1 Manual Shredder: Ideal for Paper, Card, and CD/DVD – Letter Size, 3.3L Capacity (White) by Victor Olsen

At first I was excited about this product (as excited as the shredder) as we have very little paper to destroy. Because we destroy sparingly. It would be nice to have a small device for shredding confidential documents that doesn't require batteries or electricity and can easily be kept out of sight to have it ready when needed. The device broke down while destroying 20 files. The device worked perfectly with single sheets, slightly thicker folded sheets, envelopes and inserts. The last item I tried to shred was two sheets of a standard US letter, which I mistook for one sheet. This device tends to have paper sticking together as it goes through due to the double-sided shredder. Because of the gearing, you have to turn the handle fast enough to move the blade. Combining these two factors, I heard a loud crack as I tried to destroy my last item. I noticed a slight paper curl and pen rotation every 1.5-2.0 seconds. Mechanism. Ironically, the plastic isn't broken (including the handle). This tells me that the strength and quality of the gears in this device is significantly below average, and even if the device does not fail immediately, its lifespan is significantly short. Eventually I realize that I may have restarted the device for the last time. However, I would expect any device of this nature to have an allowable human error of at least two sheets of US stationery! I hope to hear from the seller or manufacturer. Attempting to return.
