I live in the coldest part of NY state. I was looking for a pair of sturdy gloves that would be sufficient for winter outdoor work (Chopping wood, stacking wood, shoveling etc.)I bought these gloves because to me they looked to be made of heavy tough leather that would stand up to the work I was going to put them through. The synthetic lambswool inner lining looked to be just what i was looking for.I've had the gloves for about a month now and they have performed admirably. They keep my hands warm and the leather seems to be very tough.I am a tall guy (6'2) so I thought the best size for me to be large. I mistakenly ordered a pair of medium that while still fitting my hands they at first appearance seemed to be too small. However once I had broken the gloves in they form fitted to my hands and the leather softened up considerably. They are now perfectly molded to my hands and slide on and off, well like a glove should!I rubbed a handful of snow-seal leather protectant into the gloves before I broke them in and then allowed the wax to melt deep into the leather. In my opinion the snow-seal made a big difference in breaking in the glove, making it better overall.Since purchasing the gloves I have chopped and moved over a cord of wood and numerous other outdoor work activities. The gloves are holding up beautifully.If I were to take any issue with the gloves it would be that the lambswool has a tendency to trap small debris inside the glove if you are doing dirty work. If the gloves had a wrist closure they might just be the perfect pair. Not a big deal though!I'd recommend these gloves to anyone working outside in cold weather.
