Wildly versatile poncho/sleeping bag/hammock

My Kubie is a remarkably versatile and useful item. Initially I was concerned that there are no instructions with this item, but the Kijaro website has posted a series of short and easy to follow videos that show how to get to the various configurations of the Kubie. As a hiker and camper, I'll get a lot of use out of the sleeping bag configuration - I'll also use the poncho frequently - there are three ways to configure the poncho, including the full length version (what you'd likely want sitting on the bleachers at the game on a very cold day!) as well as half, and mid length. You can also tuck the hood and handle away inside the pouch and use the Kubie as a ground cover, or as a shade tarp, or if you have a place to hang it, you can use it as a hammock.I found that the sleeping bag is comfortable, but not particularly warm (it was a cool night). That will make it perfect for spring and summer camping!Overall, this is a great camping companion. It is versatile, easy to configure, comfortable both to wear and to sleep in. It compacts completely into a self contained storage pouch with a carry handle, which zips shut. When packed it can double as a pillow.

Pros
  • Warm hay Micky he likes it
Cons
  • The weight of the Kijaro Kubie may be too heavy for some users, especially backpackers who prefer more lightweight gear
