Review on Polar Vantage M Smart Watch, Black by Virot Mon ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like the product very much, fully consistent with my expectations.

In general, I am very satisfied with the purchase, as I wanted to buy a stand-alone watch with a design that I personally like. Of all the pluses, the most obvious one lies in the Polar ecosystem. It is working with the Polar Flow service that brings the most positive impressions. The program will draw up a training plan, remind you to do general physical training (videos with exercise techniques are conveniently presented on the site), and the watch itself will help not to get injured and evenly increase the load. If you are already familiar with cyclic sports, but you lacked discipline and a smart assistant, this watch is probably the best option.

Pros
  • 1) Good screen. There is enough brightness, but the darker it is around, the worse it looks in general, on the street during a workout - this is an excellent screen. The peculiarity of dependence on external light is due to autonomy - if an ordinary screen like amoled was offered - the watch would not be so tenacious, but, in my opinion, this is the main thing in a watch of this kind. 2) Sports functions. All sports functionality is excellent, from tracking the training itself to analysis in Polar FLOW. With them, you can really get rid of third-party applications like Nike run club, because the built-in program is head and shoulders above all any existing services. However, there is an optional link to all social networks and runner programs like strava. You no longer need to take your phone with you to training. 3) Design. Vkusovschina, but the watch is assembled with high quality and does not interfere with sleep. That feeling when if they were a little less or a little more, it would not be so good. My only complaint is about the materials, but more on that below. 4) Autonomy. The watch lives less than the older model, but with the function of constant heart rate tracking and with daily training, the watch lives 5-6 days. There is an understanding that over time it will deteriorate, but the reserve is much larger than that of watches that live one day.
Cons
  • 1) The quality of the strap and bezel. As a budget model, this watch has a drawback in terms of materials. The strap on the second week of use began to peel off at the tip. It's hard to explain, since this part of the strap does not touch the skin or clothing. The lower part of the watch case is made of plastic and feels rather cheap, but, oddly enough, the stainless steel part causes concern. There is a feeling that sooner or later the paint will begin to peel off this part of the watch, but the design complements with dignity 2) Pairing with a phone. As the owner of a mid-range LG, I can say that it is very difficult to maintain a connection between the phone and the watch. If the connection was lost (And it lasts for 30 minutes), then reconnection is possible only by turning on the offline mode (off / on bluetooth does not help). I couldn’t overcome this problem, but the suspicions are solely on the phone, since it is very similar to the problem of Chinese firmware in the phone, and it has indirect problems with connecting other devices, although not as critical as in the case of this watch. According to reviews, IPhone owners have no problems with this, so if this is a drawback, it is not so significant, but you need to know about it. A persistent connection will get your notifications working, but other than that, there's not much point in a persistent connection.
