Magic Dust in my review

I've been using this product on a leather board-mounted strop to sharpen and polish knife blades. Recently acquired a second hand Fallkniven A1 with some unfortunate scratches on it, which buffed out beautifully and more quickly than I expected. Diamond cuts fast and the super fine particles bring up a brilliant shine. Handling the material is a little tricky, being so fine. A wooden coffee stirrer works to dip it out of the wee baggie. A few drops of isopropyl alcohol help distribute the…

Pros
  • Very good
Cons
  • The diamond powder may not be suitable for use on certain types of rocks or minerals, potentially damaging or corroding them

Verified Diamond: my feedback

We were concerned that this may not actually be diamond, since its cost was so low compared to other suppliers, but we verified with XRD that it is in fact actual diamond. That was the most critical thing for us, since we are using it for research endeavors, so I can't comment on anything else!

Pros
  • It is the precise grit.
Cons
  • The diamond powder may be too abrasive for delicate or soft stones, potentially causing damage instead of polishing them

Makes a great polishing paste for gems, resin, plastics.

I mix a generous amount with a little oil and wax to create an exceptional polishing paste. I can use it on various projects including polishing gems, jewelry, resin and some wood. There are probably a thousand different polishing "recipes" online that can use this.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • The diamond powder may be less effective on surfaces that are already coated or sealed, requiring additional steps to prepare the surface for polishing

Super super super fine!

Using some 3n1 oil and a bit of wax mixing it around a 4 to 1 mix makes it thick and thin. The agressivness of the diamonds while being so minute makes it perfect for making a mirror polish finish!

Pros
  • The diamond powder I ordered was used for an MDF wheel knife sharpener. It worked wonders.
Cons
  • The product may be difficult to find in stores or may require special ordering, making it less convenient

I want a refund best in my review

What is this crap, pls refund my money, This is a horrible product, did someone shave gray chalk in a bag and sell it, this is unacceptable, it doesnt work, doesnt melt just horrible

Pros
  • Love!!! It is beautiful and just what I needed for my project! I need more!!
Cons
  • The consistency of the powder may vary, making it difficult to achieve consistent results

Sharp, Very Aggressive

This is a decent product. The granules seem to be sharp and they work fast. I use it for general lapping, polishing, and sharpening. This is something you don't want to get out in the wild around good tools. It will wear out fine motor brushes, bearings, and fine movements really fast. Just for fun, I loaded up a copper-rimmed wheel with the diamonds using a lot of pressure to embed them into the copper. I tried sharpening a blade on the loaded wheel and it cut the hard steel really well. Cast…

Pros
  • works for my needs
Cons
  • The product may be less effective than other polishing methods for larger or more complex surfaces, such as mirrors or windows

Great for stropping cutting tools - Use on leather or balsa

This TechDiamondTools diamond powder works great on a balsa lap (I use Sig 3/8" hard balsa 3" wide) and on leather (kangaroo is best for finishing strops)I have 3 grits set up on balsa and roo leather, it covers my Pfeil woodcarving chisels and knives as well as working great on any good knife or blade. Clear, soft pine from the home center works OK in a pinch too! (you can pay for the powder by saving your used Xacto blades - they will sharpen right up better than new) The balsa works great…

Pros
  • This works great for my second stage of dry polishing stones with walnut media
Cons
  • I didn't notice it was synthetic

Great stuff! good for me

Awesome n affordable. I’ve purchased other grit levels from y’all through eBay as well. Very happy they work great in many mixtures, depending on what your polishing and on leather felt etc ie petroleum jelly, variety of oils, Burt’s bees wax and Burt’s hand salve ( both are my favs) depend. All mix well and thoroughly even nice work

Pros
  • The product is exactly as advertised. Quick shipping. Easy to order.
Cons
  • The powder may be difficult to apply evenly or without creating a mess

Not advertised grit.

Purchased as a follow-up to the 1 micron grit paste, but leaves scratches worse than white rouge. Lame. I do not recommend!

Pros
  • Removed scratches from polishing with 5 micron rapidly and efficiently.
Cons
  • There seems to be a slightly noticeable variety in grain size visible by eye.

Diamond dust is the only way to go on strops!

Diamond dust is the only way to go on strops! I put a my knife to get a little out of the bag by scooping it with my knife tip and rub it on my 8" x 3" strops. I not sure how much this is but its not much. I could probably do this 50 times per 5 grams. It spreads easily and evenly. Once treated you can use the strop many times before reapplying the diamond dust. I cuts faster than any of the pastes that I have used and it doesn’t gue up the strop. Your blade glides across it like it has

Pros
  • Uniform in size, not clumped together or chunky
Cons
  • The diamond powder may not be environmentally friendly, as the sourcing and mining of diamonds can have negative impacts on the planet
