He was working on a thin crack in the engine block.

There was a coolant leak, took it to a major chain repair shop. They called me and said it was a cracked engine block. The chief mechanic insisted that it couldn't be repaired, the car was doomed and that I should buy the engine from them for $3,000. This is for a 2006 Honda Civic that I paid $2600 for. I figured there must be something I could try instead of buying a new motor. I was searching online, came across this product and decided to give it a try. I followed the directions on the…

DAS works during car care

my car was leaking badly and will fill the cooling system with liquid and the car will keep a normal temperature for half an hour. After the car thermostat starts to rise and I had to refill the cooling system. 2. With the engine hot and the coolant running out, I started filling the sluice more than 1/3.3. After I finished filling the sluice I added more coolant and closed the radiator and let the car run for a few minutes 4. Stop the leak, shut off the car, let it cool down, add coolant and…

Was skeptical - Gasket

I was reading K&W FiberLock reviews and came across a $2,000 repair bill for a 2008 Honda Civic with 295,000 miles. Needless to say, the car wasn't worth $2,000 and the garage knew it, too. They tried to seal cracks in the block with thick, heat-resistant silicone and this took about two days before they failed. (I paid them almost $500 to try it) So I figured I'd spent $500 already, what's another $30? I bought a bottle of FiberLock, followed the instructions and was impressed! I've driven…

Works perfectly! in sealants

Great product. Does not require draining of existing coolant. You must follow the instructions on the back of the bottle. Do not watch YouTube videos or you will add too much or maybe too little. For those who want to know. The main ingredient is sodium silicate, also known as "water glass". Dries/cures on contact with heat and air. My 2005 Chevy Tahoe was leaking coolant from either a bad head gasket or a cracked head with no outward signs of a coolant leak. I wanted to try this without…

80% chance of success trading heads if you do it!

Not easy, but effective. By doing all your homework and visiting car forums. I found the right way to use this product more effectively. Note. Use at your own risk, it worked for me despite having the infamous (faulty) Castech Alluminum heads on a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L. These are the steps you need to take to get great results. Every step to the end must be done on a cool engine.1. Flush the coolant from the vehicle. Very important, leave it on the can, but in my experience coolant and K&W…

2006 CIVIC Engine Problem Solution

My daughter's CIVIC 2006 last winter (2018/2019) was of course not guaranteed. I've been arguing about using this for quite some time as many have commented on the issue of clogged cooling systems. At the peak of the problem, we were replacing a gallon of antifreeze every two weeks, so of course it hurt. This month I finally took the plunge and poured 1/3 of a bottle into their cooling system. As a precaution, I pinched the hoses to and from the heater core. The cooler absolutely couldn't take…

So far, so good. suitable for putty, adhesives and sealants

I only bought this a few days ago because my 2005 Hyundai Elantra overheated and cooled down within a few miles of driving. The temperature arrow rose and then slowly fell to the middle mark. The heater blew cold air, then hot air for a few minutes, and cold air again. I had to change the fluid every time I had to go somewhere and just before using this product I found drops of moisture and milky residue on the dipstick. The worst part was that this all happened after I replaced my valve cover…

Works like a charm as long as you can follow the instructions.

I have a suspicion that the bad reviews on this product are from people using it incorrectly. I had a blown head gasket on a 1995 1.5 liter Honda Civic (confirmed by the shop when they replaced the timing belt, water pump and thermostat). The only reason I picked up a bottle of this sealant was because the mechanic recommended it after I told him I couldn't afford the $500 repair bill for a head gasket replacement. The mechanic told me that he had used this material before and that it was…
