This antenna is only 8dBi at 2.4GHz

This product works well but is marketed as a "10dBi" antenna but you only get 10dBi gain at 5GHz and 8dBi at frequency 2. 4th GHz frequency. If you don't read the fine print, you can skip this. Also, many photos of this device are somewhat misleading. In fact, it's the size of a regular cell phone and not those depicted in most of the photos. Overall, this is a powerful, dual-band, highly directional antenna that has really improved the quality of my wireless network (no signal loss beyond 200…

Improved coverage with slight modification

This antenna is definitely better than the stock antennas, but a few criticisms keep it from getting 5 stars.1. This is a directional antenna, but there is no indication of which side is "front". You need to know how to point it (if you want omnidirectional coverage, it's not an antenna). In my case, the router is at the end of the house, so I only need one-way coverage. This has improved by approx. 5 dB.2. The mount does not rotate 180 degrees. So if the front panel isn't pointing in the…

They fit after installing the .

They fit the Phantom 4 Pro Controller after installing the BluProton Ant Mod Kit and are dual band, unlike those that come with the Blue Proton Kit. The included ants are only 2.4 GHz. Required if you change the controller. Note that the hinge on these ants is a bit loose and will fall off if you tilt the controller, and they should be a tighter fit for this application. I make a clip that fits between the ants and keeps them evenly spaced and in line where they can't move. The company emailed…

Works as advertised and is inexpensive enough to experiment with

The antenna is small and light enough to be mounted directly to a transmitter (router or mesh) using a standard connector. It provides directional WiFi signal boost. In my case, WiFi reception on the iPhone improved from very weak and intermittent to good and stable at around 120 meters (with a few trees in between) in the 20 meter target zone. The upgrade made it possible to watch movies. With a small target like mine, the vertical-horizontal position of the antenna didn't matter (it only…

Is working! This antenna has impressive signal gain over distance.

This is a well designed dual band WiFi directional antenna. The movement of the plugs simplifies orientation even when using multiple antennas on MIMO radios. The solder joints are very clean and the coax cable runs all the way to the board as required for proper impedance matching. There are many "fake" that can't handle it. Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Expandable

I would give this a 1 to 5 star rating rate depending on how you use it and what you need. I first connected it to my expensive Asus router with 3 antennas and replaced one antenna. As another reviewer said, it doesn't rotate properly to face the rear. There is a stop inside so it only rotates 180 degrees when bent 90 degrees. I turned my router off which would reduce its cooling and looking weird and unstable to test it. There was no improvement in the data rate and signal measurements of the…

Works great and saved my lost RC airplane model.

I modified a Spectrum DX8 Gen 2 RC transmitter to have two SMA connectors for Uses high gain Wi-Fi antennas like this one. I am using this patch antenna as a secondary 2.4GHz antenna but it works fine for receiving video for 5.8GHz stations. I always get excellent reception on both bands with this antenna, but I have found how poor visibility is for 5.8GHz. Visibility is insanely limited, which is great for direction finding. I connected this antenna to my video monitor with two 5.8Ghz…

Amazing antenna that works better than anything I've ever tried

This is amazing. Especially if you need a good antenna for the 5GHz bands. The claimed gains are actually accurate, which is hard to find when looking for antennas. I doubled the connection strength and quality using it on my computer. They connect via a low-loss WiFi antenna extension cable, so aligning them is a bit tricky, but you only have to do it once. I had to use one cable because two of them didn't fit into the antenna connectors, which are very close together in my system. Also, my…
