Very easy to use and works great

I have cats. They have razor-sharp teeth and love Apple cables. Instead of spending $100 on a new adapter for my MacBook Pro every time, I could go to my warehouse, pull out the old adapters, and end up throwing out the $10 adapter. The adapter is a strong magnet that sticks firmly. So it only takes a second to get it in place. I usually keep the power adapter with one of these at the bottom of my backpack and it never comes loose or gets lost. As far as I can tell, it charges my computer just…

Overheated and melted

If you enlarge the photo you can see that the 2 top nodes on the adapter have melted and the 2 top contacts on the L-shaped connector are also damaged. This happened after about a month of regular use. The charger is the original L-tip charger that came with my old MacBook Pro, not a cheap third-party charger. I should have known that something so simple, convenient and cheap could not be counted on. However, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and buy another. Maybe I didn't put it in…

Fantastic load capacity

Save money! Background: I have a 2013 MacBook and rarely, if ever, boot it up in favor of my MacBook Pro. A few weeks ago, my dog chewed the professional's power cord and made it useless. sigh. I researched alternatives and was calculated how much a full charging cable would cost, so I chose this product as an alternative and after a few months I'm still happy! This product magnetically snaps right over the old connector and then plugs into your Mac. I didn't experience any slowdown in loading…

Very hot, breaks down easily, pins won't come back

First off, as others have said, this is a solution to a problem that really shouldn't have existed in the first place. The electronics in it must be made of very high resistance material as it gets very hot and that is probably why it failed. Most likely hot enough to melt some of the cheap plastic inside and the springs that keep the pins extended and spring loaded have failed. As you can see in the picture 2 of the 5 pins are recessed and will not come out. What makes the connection is…

A solution to a problem that shouldn't be

Why do you need this? Because Apple has decided that the connector on the MacBook Air should be slightly smaller than on the MacBook Pro. There's also a fifth pin on the Air connector, but obviously that doesn't do anything significant as you can just plug this five-pin adapter into a four-pin connector and it works great. This change was completely unnecessary. But if you live (or work) in a place with both types of MacBooks (like me), this can be quite handy as it allows people with different

I've seen a few reviews where people have mentioned problems with these things, but I've used mine with an Apple OEM 85w MagSafe adapter (1) and it worked great on a 2016 MBP. Good product and I have to thank Apple for making/offering it. It's ten bucks for a small piece of metal and it sounded like a lot at first, but after using them and realizing that they breathe new life into all old magsafe(1) power supplies (or at least model 85W in my experience), they are worth their price. You can…
