I love this paper on art paper

This is my work with paper. I tried others, although some weren't 100% cotton fibers. The color settles well and lays well on paper. I took lessons from several teachers. they all use bows.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing here

Arches makes great paper

I love Arches Hot Press Watercolor paper, it paints beautifully. If you're a beginner, I recommend the cold press versions of the Arches. You do a great job and I recommend Arches to my students.

  • Constant Test Results

With this paper you can control the fine details.

Bought the paper as a gift for my son who is learning watercolor. He has used it to create his best work to date and is delighted with the fine craftsmanship that allows him to recreate the fine details he sees in his mind.

Ideal for creating watercolor cards

Used for card backgrounds with oxide ink sprayed with water and diluted bleach for special effects. Then I stamped my fairy stamps. I love the smoothness of this embossing paper. It doesn't wobble much either. (I don't glue the paper when I work with it. The 5" x 7" size is great for my cards. I can cut a lot out of this notebook with very little waste.)

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons

Arches Hot Press Watercolor Paper

Arches produces many high quality paper products. I bought this product on the recommendation of a professional artist to draw realistic subjects with pencil and charcoal despite watercolor paper. Arches makes excellent cold press watercolor paper which I have used many times. Recommended for serious hobbyists and artists for graduation projects due to cost.

Pros
  • Large Selection
Cons
  • New Competitors Emerged

. opaque watercolor and ink on it and it seems normal.

Smooth Heavy I use opaque watercolor and ink and everything looks good. no "tooth" watercolor paper as I'm used to, but this is a hot press, not a toothed cold press. Good for illustrating what I'm doing. Can I try putting egg tempera on some watercolors to see how it goes? This is new to me, so I'm getting used to it. The heat press makes the line thinner due to the smoother surface.

Pros
  • Art Supplies
Cons
  • You could upgrade to a newer model

Late and overpriced

Good product. I have been using this paper for many years. Arrived undamaged as expected. I give two stars because the price is too high. I paid $34, I think about double what Blick or my local coworker's art store sells. I was willing to be ripped off in exchange for expedited shipping. But it did not work. It was 3 days late. I paid twice as much hoping to get some last minute Christmas cards and they still arrived late. I will never buy from this seller again. Hit look online everyone!

Pros
  • Art paper
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

LOOKING FOR QUALITY NO MORE!

Excellent paper. A bit pricey but what can you do? Quality paper will *always* be one of those silly expenses for any artist who knows the difference the right paper can make. And it's VERY high quality paper. I'm usually a cold presser, but for a recent order I needed something smoother and more consistent. This should definitely be your first consideration when looking for really high quality paper. Also for those who often get it wrong with graphite, this paper sticks well to all common…

Pros
  • Watercolor paper
Cons
  • Uncertain
