Very forgiving of DJ equipment

I've used Ortofon, Shure and AT. It offers the best value for money and is very forgiving. However, I have to downgrade the sound quality and (sound) accuracy to 4 stars because the needle does not technically go into the entire groove. Therefore the tone is not as defined. At the same time, the elliptical needle is useless for an amateur listener. Your turntable geometry must be correct to take advantage of the elliptical stylus without tracking issues. This combination of needle and cartridge

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Sad equipment

Yes, do it for electronic music, DJs and karaoke

I was having weird internal groove distortion and hissing with the original at95e that came with my At-LP120 and it all sounded a little worse. I've seen it swing in the groove. Maybe the needle just wore out, I don't know. So I bought it to replace the original. If you don't like the conical pin as much as the elliptical, buy it. Sounds better than at95e so far. It is worth replacing the cartridge. I set WTF and Anti-Akat to 2 grams. No more wobbling. Everything I played sounded as it should…

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • Poor manual

Excellent value for money and quality!

I was looking for a "cheap" tapered pickup for playing vinyl records, which I don't want to expose to a nicer needle (because it's scratched, dirty, etc.), but at 39 US dollars, this cartridge is only $15 more expensive than the AT-3600L. I'm not an audiophile so can't speak to things like soundstage and the like but I found this cartridge to sound great out of the box on my Technics SL-1600 and the great thing is that it's interchangeable. Needle to Audio Technica's more expensive offerings in

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Requires a socket

I am impressed! Record player cartridge

I was looking for a replacement cartridge for my Denon record player. Decided to try AT VM95C. I figured since the needles in this range are upgradeable I'd start with the cheapest tapered needle to see if I like it first. Wow, I was surprised! This thing sounds so good I don't even need an upgrade. It really is that good. Great separation, nice deep tight bass, soft mids and highs and no siblings! I am more than happy with my purchase. I've known Audio Technica cartridges since I used them in…

Inexpensive for electronic music, DJs and karaoke

My daughter is into vinyl and asked if she could borrow one of my old turntables. So of course I was excited to install an old Pioneer servo for it. Since she's not a music lover yet, I didn't have to buy her a high-end cartridge. But I wanted to get something relatively decent. This unit sounds better than I expected! Sure, it's not in the same class as my more expensive AT, but it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars! I'm happy with the build quality, sound and looks. Interestingly, the wiring…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Not everything fits

I had an Ortofon on my turntable but didn't like the design. The recommended value is 1.75 g (VTF), but I had to set it to 1.5 g because at 1.75 g the case back scratched the record surface. I tried several different Ortofons (including OM10) and it had the same problem! My old Numark that I've had for 20 years had the same Audio Technica stylus and it never gave me any problems. And I'm pretty rough with pens. I always buy records at flea markets and in dumpsters, and while I clean them fairly

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor

For $34 you absolutely couldn't have done better.

I placed this cart on top of my third turntable in my living room. There is no justification for buying an expensive car when only old records are played and my child will probably use it. Like the looks, the sound, the expandability, the cost. everything about it is perfect. I've had many stylus and cartridge combinations in the past, including expensive orthophonic models. This one is crazy about so much money. Later I will definitely try elliptical and possibly microlinear styli on this car.

Yes. So good.

Finally! A simple cassette that makes it easy to enjoy your music. Face to face. This is not an ideal world. But we go into the workforce every day and try to make the best of it. And with that comes the daily stress of our lives. So the last thing we want to do is go home, turn on our favorite records, and sit there analyzing every intricate detail or flaw in an imperfect medium. It's vinyl. We just want to enjoy music. And this cartridge lets you do just that. I have bought many cartridges in

Pros
  • Threaded inserts in the cartridge body allow the cartridge to be attached to the body with just two bolts - no nuts required

The Real Blue Deal!

Whether you're renovating an old turntable or trying to upgrade a new entry-level turntable, the Audio-Technica AT-VM95C is a great entry-level cartridge. For the price of a meal in the big city, you get a 21st-century cartridge for today and tomorrow that's a lot more flexible than you might expect. The C stands for "Tapered Stylus" and is therefore an "Entry Level" among many others. new vinyl fans, but it's a great everyday choice if many of your LPs have been pulled from used record store…
