Fits my needs

With a single Ethernet cable, my keyboard, mouse and monitor can be placed where I really want. For my use on a 12" widescreen, the video looks fine. I've noticed that I have to turn on the monitor before I turn on the computer or I don't get video - maybe that's a function of the computer and I wasn't paying attention. It works with my wireless keyboard/mouse. It gets a little warm so gave it 4 stars but it works fine.

It works as it says and that's all I need from it!

This is the first KVM upgrade I've received from Revain and my friend told me to apply for access, which I did. The delivery was fast, well packaged and I installed it alone in about 10 minutes, which surprised me. I was ready for a blank screen when I turned it on, but I saw my computer. Now I can play in the bedroom without having to lug around my laptop, love it! Ps: I am using a CAT 6 about 50 feet long and it works great.

Really good KVM extender.

I use them to improve connections at conference room tables and for team video conferencing. A wireless keyboard/mouse, webcam, USB hub or USB storage device can be connected to the two USB ports on the remote control/TV. They work perfectly. Sometimes the picture on the TV is not correct, but the TV picture settings fix the problem. Technical support is out of the question. But they just work. Use CAT6 or CAT5 on the same cable. Power can be supplied from both the local (computer) and remote…

Great support! in external components

I bought six of these devices last October. Everything installed and working great. Then, in the first quarter of this year, one of the transmitters failed. I call it electronic infant mortality. If the box works for six months, it will work for a long time. Contacted tech support and in short, they quickly agreed to replace the device. I sent the defective unit back and it was quickly replaced. No problem. The replacement unit was installed and all six are working properly. It's the kind of…

Cons
  • I am concerned

Bought two units to use as KVM for an automated playlist server located 50ft from monitors. Very happy with the image quality and zero mouse/keyboard lag. I bought two different devices for the same price resulting in unbearable video graininess and unacceptable KB/mouse latency. The only thing I have with this unit is that when I first started it the screens kept flashing every second until I unplugged and plugged the Cat5e cables back in. Since then, the problem has recurred on system…

the more expensive one works better than the cheaper one.

Update: For $230 model. Came with a missing cable, contacted the company and couldn't get a clear answer if it's better than Walmart. I was only told to send it back for a replacement, which for a basic cable from Walmart wasn't worth it. Does it work as intended, the controller works great, can play emulators on it and what not. I give him 3 runs. Technical support excellent, was able to send back after 30 days. The remote fits my PS4 controller and is not recognized. I routed the wires using…

Good build quality, metal body.

This HDMI/UTP TX and RX set has worked very well for me. I needed to connect my computer's HDMI output to a conference room in another part of the building. I used the IT department's existing data cabling and bypassed all the Ethernet devices to connect the TX and RX together. They are NOT based on Ethernet but use the same copper/UTP cabling as Ethernet. Operating display, status display help with troubleshooting. The chassis is steel and comes with brackets/screws. I would buy again. I…

Good product but USB doesn't work over long distances

Overall I'm happy with it. Successfully extends HDMI and USB with 100ft Ethernet in my case. While attempting to add a third room to my setup, I exchanged several emails with their support - they suggested I use an HDMI splitter and connect a second HDEX80 KVM to power the third room. I set this up and the picture quality comes up, but the USB signal can't reach the third room. On Windows, the "USB Detected" beep sounds indefinitely, as if it could almost detect the signal, but it's not enough.

  • Absolute Legend

  • Anything I can add?

**Updated positive review**

Purchased HDEX80-KVM. Was dead on arrival. USB worked correctly but video over HDMI did not. Tried Cat5e and Cat6 cable, no difference. Both test cables were less than 6 feet long. I noticed that the build quality feels cheap and the components are very light and unreliable. Incidentally, the module also seemed to get very hot. I'm worried that even if it works properly, it won't last long. Looks like I'll be looking elsewhere. **Updated May 14, 2018** I spoke to a technician named Ryan who…
