    Didn't work, sent back.

Uses a splitter to send an optical signal to a new soundbar and wireless headphones with an adapter to convert the optical signal to RCA. The splitter only sent audio to the soundbar. I checked both cables, all ok. After a bit of research, the answer might be the active optical splitter I ordered. It will soon be known if the solution is to use a powered splitter.

Inexpensive way to get two optical audio outputs from one

This item does a good job of transferring optical audio to my Blu-ray player/surround sound system and TV streaming device to my hearing aids. It took some switching when first plugged in to get a good signal on both outputs, probably due to the weight of the two cables compared to the jack on the back of the TV, but after optimal alignment it's worked fine ever since.

    Doesn't work: fiber optic cable

Doesn't work with my speaker and soundbar. Both work independently, connected directly to the TV, but do not work via a splitter. Tried one and both. A red light shines through, maybe the splitter is weakening the signal. Maybe someone knows about optical connections and can explain that. I'll try another one, they're cheap and I like playing around with these things. Update: I replaced it with the Moborest brand and it works great.

    Works well depending on configuration

I needed this to split the fiber optic output from my TV to add a hearing aid along with an existing soundbar connection. I also have a fiber optic switch so other devices can be connected to the soundbar. The direct connection to the TV output did not work with the soundbar. Finally I moved it to the output of the switch and everything worked as it should. Splitting the lesson reduces the output, so beware of complex configurations. Also, it doesn't match the connectors as well as other…

Simple and effective product for audio and video accessories

Works well. I was concerned about the unpowered optical splitter based on some negative reviews. Installed on the TV LG 49NANO85UNA to power the headphones and soundbar. A few simple things to look out for. There are no instructions included, but it's easy. Remove the protective mushroom cap from the male end. Connect it to the optical port on your TV. When properly connected, it will make a distinct click. Just plug in optical cables from other devices. Again, the optical cables from your…

Doesn't work with my Samsung Smart TV!

My slightly older Samsung Smart TV only has an optical audio input. Since I already had a Samsung soundbar plugged into this jack, I had nowhere to add an optical cable for my husband's new Sennheiser wireless headphones. It looked like the perfect solution to my problem. When it arrived I connected everything and. Nothing. Headphones didn't work. I tried everything and after two days of manipulation and a lot of online research I called the Nerd Squad for help. A guy came out and said he could

May not work on your device

I bought this to add Remote Touch for the headphone dock to the soundbar's audio channel. After playing around with this for a while and fixing all the hardware in my setup, I figured that cable splitter was the culprit. The TOSLINK fit on my TV was "questionable" as any jiggling would cause the audio on my soundbar to cycle on and off, and even when it's standing still there are occasional noises. I could never get it to work with my TOSLINK to analog converter which I used to power my…

Ideal for splitting TV audio output between soundbar and headphones

This is the perfect solution for splitting the optical digital audio output of a Toslink TV so that it can use the Toslink input of a receiver or soundbar simultaneously powers and wirelessly headphones that have a base block with a Toslink input. Keep in mind that this is a passive device and will reduce the amount of light each device receives. So there's a chance that one or more of your devices might not like it. I used it in an installation where one of the existing Toslink cables in the…

A simple solution with a single optical connector

I bought Bluetooth headphones for my TV. I chose this setup because of the connectivity options that came with it. Unfortunately I didn't check what I have for the connections on the TV. The only option I had was an optical port, which connected to my sound system. Where I need headphones to watch TV or talk to people over the air conditioning, it has become necessary to separate my optical signal so I don't have to take everyone outside with the sound system to hear it. BlueRigger's splitter…
