🔋 BTECH Battery Eliminator BL-5 for BF-F8HP, UV-5X3, and UV-5R Radios Review

Baofeng has a bad reputation in the ham circles I work with. I'm here to say no, Baofeng is great! It is an ideal backup for field use and a great addition as a backup power source. I mainly use CERT and ARES for my local team, I had mixed opinions on this purchase but I will end up saying to the skeptics that this is one of those things you would like to have if you need it, I didn't have to make one statements. .

Okay I bought a similar item from another seller for about half the price - it worked for the radio but was disappointed that it couldn't provide power during transmission. Went ahead and ordered the BTECH battery rectifier version - it works great! Yes, a few bucks more (not that much actually), but it's perfect for radio and I don't see any reduction in power consumption anymore. Forget others. Go with!

Not much to say about that. It fits my F8HP perfectly. That means I have a way to turn on the radio even if the power goes out. I don't plan on using it in place of the standard battery, but in addition just in case (or when I'm traveling with a radio so I don't have to carry a charger around, I'm too lazy). Great product, I like that unlike others they come with a pacifier. I ordered two of these and both could come apart at the bottom if the tab doesn't click properly.
