AV Equipment Issues

My fingers are burned from remaking countless RJ45 ends, thinking it was my lack of skill only to conclude that this cable the problem is. I have routed/rerouted cables for Cisco IP cameras and HDMI converters/extenders. I tested it with a different cable and it works fine. This cable may not be designed for audio/video transmission.

Pros
  • Made by
Cons
  • Not the best

Lightweight Ethernet cable

Very lightweight, unshielded cable, thin outer sheath, no internal twisted pair splitter, suitable for indoor use. Doesn't lay flat due to hundreds of kinks in the box (250ft spool). Single core wires are easy to straighten and crimp. It seems to work well with low bitrate compressed IP cameras.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Almost everything included

Buy a set of crimping tools and connectors!

We already had an Ethernet cable of the same length from a thrift store. We had to connect from our home router almost an acre of land to our fifth wheel at the back of the property. I had to buy crimping pliers and plugs for the connection, but everything worked great - the first time!

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Something's wrong

Poor quality of computer accessories and peripherals

Poor quality ethernet cable. The jacket is thin and soft, wear-resistant. The cable bends easily under tension. The wire breaks easily in preparation for installing the end connectors. The color coding on the striped cable is faint and barely visible, brown and orange are almost identical. It took longer because of crossing wires in a number of connectors that took time to cut and remake. Wouldn't recommend it for critical services, especially POE.

Pros
  • Gives a comfortable feeling
Cons
  • Doubt

Not 5e, wires break easily.

As other sellers have pointed out, this is a very poor quality cable. Forget running PoE on this one. Very unstable. Forget Gigabit Ethernet. Cables break so easily. There is very little copper on it which scratches easily exposing another metal. Can't work with this cable, one run lasted 2 hours, the other started showing problems after 1 week. I do not recommend. Don't waste your money on it.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Buy better. - Computers and accessories

Just a headache in a box. This is a 250ft spool of wire that comes with tools to connect the ends and then a means of checking your work. Sounds great, but it's cheap junk. The tester I received had a dodgy switch that turned off completely after making the third wire. A 30 foot cable passed the tests on both ends, but none of the 8 wires had continuity. Either the wire broke inside or the crimp somehow didn't work. It's hard to say without a tester. It's not a business if you can't make…

Not pulled out of the box, kinks, poor filler neck design!

I started to pull on the cord but felt some resistance, then advanced about 75 feet and it stopped. I had to cut open the box to find that the problem was that the cable was kinked and stuck in the neck of the feed guide. This cut the wires and made the first 75 feet dead had to cut them! (shorter cables can be made from this wire) PROBLEM - poorly designed feed guide, it has a sharp edge, not smoothly rounded! I ended up removing the rest of the cable and had to tug on it and have a helper…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Terrible coil of wire I received.

Making an Ethernet cable is easy. I have testers and all the necessary tools for this, but the cable reel I received was terrible. There were so many kinks on the spool when I unraveled it that I couldn't get a 10 foot length that wasn't affected. Do yourself a big favor and buy ready-made products of the right length. Always buy a grade higher than you need. This will help in the long run. CAT7 with gold connectors is currently the best thing to buy even if you don't need to operate at the…

Works great so far good for computers and accessories

Ran about 25-30ft and seems great quality. My box was sealed with tape and the cord knotted about 15-20 feet inside the bag. I had to pull so hard that the plastic wire holder broke out of the box, forming one big whole. This is my first time buying such a cable, so I don't know if it's typical to tie it with a knot and tape the box together. Looks like I have one that split open and someone taped it back up. I think the knot should be on the other end, but they flipped it when assembling the…
