I also wear protective needle covers when I wash my hands frequently. These gold plated needles last twice as long as regular needles. On a large project, I have to change needles 4-5 times. I change these needles twice.

I had the same problem as the other reviewer. The squeaking is annoying. I use 100% Belfast underwear. I go back to tulip needles. I found the tip a bit sharper than the John James which I prefer on 32 gauge. I really wanted to love them because the gold color is so much easier to see!

They don't fade! This is the first pack of pins I use all the time that doesn't fade. I have very warm hands and sweat tends to corrode the finish of cross stitch needles. But they haven't rusted at all (and I've had them for quite some time now)! I couldn't be happier with these needles!
