the handle fell off!

To be honest. I have had this radio for 6 years. On the other hand, it's been in my backpack the whole time and I've only used the crank twice in those 6 years for testing within a minute or two (I was very careful not to be rude). This time, upon inspection, when taking it out of the box, the handle simply fell off. Apparently the plastic on the pole inside the radio is broken. everything else still works. I suppose the plastic handle isn't the best idea? I expected for the price. a bit…

Dynamo and solar charging are a joke

The radio works well but the dynamo (start) or charging from the solar panel is a joke. A dynamo and solar panel charges a cheap, small-capacity NiMH battery. The problem is that this battery has a very short lifespan. You can replace it, but with shipping and tax (CA), the cost of C Crane is more than $20. Other similar packages are around $4, but the C Crane connector is proprietary so they won't work. You can buy an expensive battery charger, but C Crane says NOT to turn on the radio while…

Excellent performance, but poorly designed and even worse built.

The first was replaced within the first few months because it just stopped working. The new one had its own problems, first the handle on the dynamo crank snapping off at its base. I just glued it again. Now the LED flashlight doesn't work and I put BRAND NEW Duracell batteries in it. Although I bought an AC adapter with the correct voltage and amperage, the battery charger jack never worked; It also failed to power the device when plugged in, but it did get quite hot. I had hoped to be able to

Designed to fall and break

If I didn't live offline I wouldn't buy this radio. This is the best for listening to battery powered radio only. The weather channel is also very useful. Excellent localized information. 3 double A batteries even work for a while. The grip is probably only good if you were lost and penniless. The solar panel works in full sun. This is where I lose respect for this product: it's meant to fall and break. It's hard with a weak cheap antenna. If the antenna breaks, you're left with a radio that…

I like CC Solar Observer Radio

I like CC Solar Observer Radio but the Revain packaging tricked me into buying "xuuyuu" non-CCrane AC adapters - there are "People also bought X" with the section dot. It turned out to be a 1.2 amp 5v adapter while the radio says the adapter is 0.3 amp (300mA) to 5v. I think the radio is out of order. C Crane replaced the radio with a monitor but when he developed the same symptoms I discussed the possibilities with Crane's operator and he found a problem with an adapter that did not meet…

Excellent sound quality

Reliable, well thought-out radio. I expected nothing less from the folks at C Crane and it didn't disappoint. First of all you should know that I received a newer model of this radio; These newer models appear to have started shipping in January 2013. I'll post a picture of the insert I received, but it says there's a new radio controller inside that gives even better AM/FM reception and selectivity, and they contain a better speaker. This means a slightly shorter listening time with the same…

WHAT DO YOU THINK AND WHERE IS THE FEEDBACK ON THESE PROBLEMS?

Let me start with the purchase of 4 LED Flashlights, 2 C. Crane 1/4 Speed Cassette Radios, 1 Pocket MP3 Recorder, 2 Original C.Crane Free Play Dynamo Radios start. VHF transmitters and certainly other things that I can't think of right now. Therefore, I liked the quality of all their products. That's why I'm so disappointed with this product, and here's why.1. There is no indicator to let you know the solar panel is charging, NOT GOOD! "Emergency radio from HOPE for does what it's supposed to…

I like CC Solar Observer Radio

I like CC Solar Observer Radio but Revain's packaging tempted me to buy a non-CCrane power supply "xuuyuu” – there are "people also bought X”. " with that section of the product. It turned out to be a 1.2 amp 5v adapter, while the radio says the adapter supplies 0.3 amps (300mA) to 5 V has I think the radio is out of order C Crane replaced the radio with a control box but when he developed the same symptoms I discussed the possibilities with Crane's operator and he found a problem with an…
