Bought to screw a 2" hitch adapter to a 2" receiver. The coupler adapter is very close to the receiver and the U-bolt is only 2 1/8" wide, making it too narrow for this application. The U-bolt is larger than most other products. This is very bad because it is well built and sturdy.

This strap holds the ball mount firmly to the earpiece and looks good doing it. The clamp eliminates jerky movements between trailer and truck. My ball mount had a gusset that required the clamp to be turned upside down. Stainless steel construction is valued in the Northwest, be sure to use anti-seize compound on stainless steel bolt threads. I replaced the nuts with nylock nuts to prevent loose nuts.

FIRST TIME INSTALLATION! He walked easily and secured the hitch surprisingly well. BUT when I tried to take it off, one nut came loose slightly, the other caught on one of the lock washers and then all together on the U-bolt. I had to use a cutting washer on the nut to try to salvage the U-bolt but damaged the threads too badly. Too bad it looked like a nice product. Stainless steel is a soft metal, so be careful when tightening. The return was processed immediately.

I tried the nuts on the bottom and then the nuts on the top. The curved edge points in the direction shown in all videos. I even brought my husband over to see if he could pull it harder than me (he did but it still didn't work). This item comes with anti-rust treatment, so it's a compromise you choose.
