These are very nice. They're not too heavy, but heavy enough to make them very sturdy. They're well made and at a perfect 90 degree angle. I would have given them 5 stars, because they are shiny, which makes them look at little cheaper looking than they would if they were matte black. I would buy many more if they also came in a smaller size. I definitely recommend.

I had purchased one set over a year ago. I loved it so much that I went to buy another set and saw that they now have a package deal for two. I recommend these bookends if you want to showcase your books but don't have a bookshelf. They look great and are well-made.

These bookends are sturdy enough to hold up paperback textbooks. When I first saw them, I immediately understood the reviews that stated the glossy finish hints of a lesser quality and my first thought was that I would be spray painting them matte black, but the glossy finish actually worked with the finish of my bookcase. I do recommend these bookends very highly.

These bookends are very sturdy and work well in the places where I needed to keep some books from falling over. Very versatile and they look very nice. They are a little larger than I expected which is nice.

These bookends came as indicated. I ordered the large size because sometimes the part we see looks nice, but the base is too small to hold the books. The backs are tall and supportive, and the base is large enough to sold a few books without sliding.

This is my second time ordering these. This time I ordered multiple sets for my various bookcases and shelves. They're very good quality black painted metal. They hold up everything I put up against them. They're very pretty without being too busy-looking or bulky like traditional book ends. I highly recommend!

They are very sturdy. They hold up large, thick hardcover & soft cover books of all sizes. The look is great & blends well color wise with darker wood, espresso, black shelves. It would pop, stand out more on a lighter surface & look great as well. The base on them are wide so keep the measurements in mind since it’s placing 2 together depending on the self, or surface length. They are heavier, but that helps them serve their purpose. Not sure why it asks about being lightweight for the review…

What I like most is the heft and the "grippy" surface on the bottom. It doesn't matter which book or from what location I select, the bookend does not move. That is important for me because I am using them on 18-inch corner shelves. There aren't a lot of books on each shelf but I didn't want to run the risk of them toppling every time I grabbed a single book. I wish they came in another color but ended up spray-painting them silver so it's okay.

Foam pads are attached to the bottom (I didn't have to put them on). They keep the bookends from scratching, but don't slide. The design is really elegant.
