Fun set, works great.

It was a simple kit with a minimum of soldering tools and the necessary skills. Works great with my Raspberry Pi projects. I added a microSD female cable for power. This allows me to use a Y-cable connected to my Pi's power supply (5V-3A). I am planning to use this kit in the Smart Mirror project in the near future.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

not as shown: Home cinema

This kit is worth the money. It's just that the one they sent me has a 4-pin connector that connects two speaker wires together, and that connector doesn't fit into anything else that's included. I can and will make it work by cutting off the connector and soldering everything together. Only if you're going to fit a plug in, why not one that plugs into something?

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Write later

Bought this kit for a RetroPie arcade console I'm building. The sound is good and there's a slight hum, perhaps because it's connected to the same power source as the Raspberry Pi itself, but no other kit can match the price. Very pleased, but a warning to potential buyers: don't expect very high sound quality from this kit.

Pros
  • Good Stuff
Cons
  • Upgradeable

amplifier is ok; not very good speakers

Amplifier is good, speakers are not worth the money; Volume and quality are bad. They tried to fix it with isolation, ended up fitting 1" silver speakers with this amp, VARIETY better, louder and much cleaner. The plug on the speakers DOES NOT mate with the pins on the amp - stupid!. The RCA Output has bare wires, there should be connections for the amp to make it a reasonable package.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Working but not as pictured

The board comes with the correct pins (you'll have to solder it yourself though) but the speakers have an odd connector on the end that doesn't fit the connector pins. . So you (I) have to cut them off and wear something else instead. I think at this price you can overlook these problems. PS - I used a very small screwdriver and pulled the plugs out of the connector. From there I just connected the plugs to the pins!

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Nice set of amplifier and speakers.

Built a small desktop arcade and used these speakers and amplifiers. There's nothing amazing about them, but they fit my project perfectly. They sound pretty decent for their size, and sitting a meter away is more than loud enough. My only complaint is the included 3.5 inch cable which causes a lot of interference. It made buzzing and other noises until I replaced this cable. It has no shielding and is not earth wrapped like other 3.5mm cables. After replacing this cable everything works asโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Mini Speaker - 2 pcs 4ohm 3w 31mm x 70mm. Same speakers as flat screen TVs and monitors.

  • Some bugs

Can't beat the price.

I use this as a treat dispenser to call my dog. Soldering was easy. As others have said the speakers come with a four pin connector (JST I think) and the pins are for the DuPont style. In other words, they don't connect. No big deal, I just hooked up some DuPont terminals. I was going to cut the cables anyway. My only complaint is a bunch of static. I mean it was unbearable. I just hooked it up to test and maybe it will get better when I assemble it. However, I have an extra core filter lyingโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Useless functions
