If it were not for the problem with the mouse, I would put 5, but only 4. Perhaps, in my case, the problem is somewhere not on the side of the docking station, I'll figure it out. But when connecting the mouse directly to the laptop, the problem does not appear. Actually, it did not exist before the purchase of the docking station.

Pros
  • Great set of ports. I switched all the peripherals to the docking station: two hdmi monitors, a keyboard and a wireless mouse. Everything fits on the back of the station, while there are free front ports for connecting flash drives, headphones, etc. Now you can easily change laptops connected to the workplace, as well as quickly, without pulling out a mountain of wires, turn off the laptop if you need to work somewhere else. Everything really worked according to the Plug'n'Play principle. Because There are also special drivers, then I installed them, but in general everything was praised even without them.
Cons
  • The main drawback in my case is that over time (an hour or two of work) it starts to noticeably slow down the response of the mouse, it is solved by changing the USB connector, but it also helps for an hour or two. You can use a retarding mouse, but it's uncomfortable. Rather, not a drawback, but a wish - if there was still a USB 3.1 gen1 Type-C port, and not 3.0, then it would be possible to get rid of the laptop charging cable. The laptop would be charged through this connector. It would be a completely ideal option - I connected one cable and that's it - you can use it.

Think twice before buying this product.

I have a Dell inspiron 15 i7 c 1950ti laptop. On Windows everything is fine. It pulls two 2k monitors, though it gets very hot, but Ubuntu is not needed for work. On the website of the official drivers there are no drivers for Linux. There is a displayport office, which seems to be connected with Dell, and they supply firewood. It just didn't pull. Either screens appear and hang after a minute, or immediately a black screen. Returned. I'll look for something more powerful and with Ubuntu…

Pros
  • not expensive
Cons
  • Doesn't work for ubuntu

The product is usable, I expected a bit more.

Yes, the description of the station is incorrect here, which can lead to significant disappointment from the purchase. USB type - C is not in it. The laptop can't charge. DELL - minus your karma, there was a review / question with a request to correct the description. For me, not a drawback, because it fully corresponds to the declared characteristics. My ports fell off somewhere 2 times a month at two different stations. To be treated by restarting the station. However, it cost me half a day…

Pros
  • The station is on fire! Easily connects three FHD monitors + laptop screen itself + 1Gbit network + microphone + headphones + whistle from USB mouse + WEB-camera Everything works through a USB 3.0 port, which is cool - a relatively old laptop (3 years old) started up without problems, picked up everything.
Cons
  • Yes, the description of the station is incorrect here. Insignificant, but the disadvantage is that different ports can periodically fall off. From time to time it can be disconnected for one or two minutes, given that at this moment there may be a call with colleagues / customers - this can be just awful. Turned off daily. I'm taking off a star for this. a critical moment came when the station began to turn off 5 times a day. My working day is quite long (12 hours minimum). I don't unplug it at all. I tried to turn it off, it seems to be somehow less likely to turn off. For me, such frequent shutdowns are unacceptable. Maybe it's the OS, but recently I took a more expensive station (at the time of writing this one costs about 12k, I took it for 18) with the same connectors, only usb type-c is connected to the laptop, the problem is gone completely. I tend to think that the problem is in the docking station, but I have not decided what and whether it makes sense to take it in for repair. I'm taking off another star for too frequent shutdowns (sometimes several times in a row).

Works great if you're open minded about what you want to use it for.

I bought this dock with the idea that it wasn't designed for video processing/playback or gaming (but I can play two 1080p videos on different screens with no problem). box makes it easy for me to work remotely as I only need to plug a single USB 3.0 cable into my laptop to connect everything (while also making it easy to switch to my personal laptop). I am using three monitors @ 1080p for each monitor. The bad thing I just discovered: Audio - I couldn't easily connect a set of speakers (won't…

Pros
  • Decent performance

Kick me now for computers and accessories

If you are looking for more frustration and trouble in your life. Or when you have too much time or money and need to waste it. Then Dell has the right product for you! If I could give this zero stars or negative stars I would. This thing isn't even worth the time to write a review. But I read them and try to make purchasing decisions based on them. I don't know what I was thinking this time. But now I'm kicking myself. First, you need to buy a separate DisplayPort cable. Another reviewer noted

Unplug Your Dell Peripherals

Oh how Dell has fallen. This expensive little device has a fatal flaw: the power connector inside the module has a contact that breaks very easily. I mean it breaks if you just turn it on and off multiple times. The docking station is completely useless if it breaks. You can hear the pin rattling inside after it breaks. I knew DisplayLinks had this problem and was pretty cautious about it. I worked with it for a little over a year before it broke. Furthermore, Dell's customer service has to be…

Pros
  • Great Overall Performance
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff

Some bugs, but otherwise a very good part of desktop awesomeness.

Well I've been using one of these docks for almost a year now and am very impressed. The image quality is excellent and the functionality is very reliable. However, I have two complaints. First, the installation is not as easy as it should be. Firmware is available on both Dell's website and DisplayLink's website, but once the native display management software is installed, there is none. You are forced to use Windows display management software which is absolutely not user-friendly especially

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Negative present

This is my first Revain review, having used this site for the last 7 years. I decided to start here as I needed to do some research after purchasing this product to get it working the way I wanted it to. . On arrival I connected both monitors and to my dismay the resolution was stretched and I couldn't adjust it further than 1920x1080. After some research I realized that I would not be able to achieve 2560x1080 for both monitors via HDMI. Be sure to contact Dell Support for the maximum possible

  • Good price
