Description of DROK Accuracy 0 33 00V 0 999 9MA 3 000A Voltmeter

Measuring Voltage: 0.00-33.00V; Measuring Current: DC 0-999.9mA-3.000A(change the resolution automatically). This Volt/Amp meter is 0.28'' 4 digit high accuracy dual display, the display is bright and sharp. When measuring current, the measured line provides power supply. Don't need a isolated power supply. High accuracy voltage measurement with measuring line voltage drop compensation. A good tool to monitor charging LI-ion batteries and electronics bench, etc.

Check out the schematic in the store

Okay I almost tore my hair out finding the schematic in the Revain store. It drives me nuts that manufacturers don't include instructions with their products these days, but I think that's the problem and I'm just too old-fashioned. Anyway, now that I know how to connect it, it works great. :-)

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Very expensive

Cute little gauge but needs a bear to wire it up properly

Arrived quickly, item as advertised. Observe the connection diagram (below the illustrations for description). In addition, there are some connection instructions in the product description. I was having trouble getting the correct reading when taking readings from an AA battery with an isolated 10V power supply for the meter. I'm interested in measuring the voltage and current from a single AA battery. I finally got the readings, but the wiring is unintuitive.

  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Crumpled

Looks good and neat enough for most uses.

For reading voltage and current on a variable DC power supply (test bench). Since the power is variable, I powered the meter from a 12VDC voltage regulator module. Strangely, when an application causes an inductive spike, the meter goes off. Then after shutdown and restart everything is fine again. I can try to put surge protectors (zener diodes) on the meter's power supply. I checked the voltage reading on a calibrated meter and it's usually within 0.1-0.2 volts of the actual voltage.

Fast delivery, works great once you read the fitting instructions

Despite the promised delivery time (weeks as far as I remember) mine arrived in 2 days. Having fixed my clunky initial setup, it works great to control the voltage and current going to the solar powered circulation pump for a solar water heater. The ammeter automatically selects one of 2 ranges (described in the product specifications) between 000.0-999.9mA (for current <1A) and 0.000-3.000A (for current >=1A); very versatile little package. We recommend that you copy the schemes in the…

Nice little counters but not suitable for my application. I wasted my money.

These gauges are fine if you can use them. After buying two of these to install into an unmetered triple output power supply I bought, I found that I couldn't use them at all due to the power consumption. to the gauges are not isolated from the measurement circuit, and their negative power line is internally connected to the negative line of the sensor. I'm sure this was done by DROK to save money, but it limits their flexibility. If the manufacturer built a small isolated DC/DC converter to…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Nothing

I bought one that measures both voltage and current and was very impressed at first. I checked it against a very accurate gauge and it turned out to be accurate. Then I connected it to my project and was a bit disappointed. It measures the voltage between the thin yellow wire and the black wire. This measures the voltage *before* the shunt. It MUST measure the voltage between the thin yellow wire and the thick red wire (which measures the voltage *after* the shunt). So the voltage reading is a…

  • Great overall performance

  • Not the best

Precise voltage and current meter

The small meter is very accurate. Compared to my Agilent and Fluke multimeters, the voltage readings are within +/- 2mV. The voltage drop at the current clamps is approx. 80 mV with a load current of 400 mA. Yes, as mentioned in other posts, there is nothing in it that tells you how to connect. The photo on the Revain product page shows a wiring example. Here's what I understand: The thick red and black wires are the ammeter probes. The thin red and black wires are the power supply for the…

This meter must not exceed 3 amps or, according to DROK, it will burn out.

DROK panel meters have historically been reliable and accurate but this 0-3 amp meter DROK says cannot exceed 3 amps as it will most likely burn out. Making such a fragile meter is poor engineering because in many situations it is difficult to control the current. The internal circuit must ALWAYS be protected against overcurrents of at least 3 times the rated current and then by an external fuse or the 3 times overheat protection (user supplied). I suggest limiting this meter to applications of

Current consumption indicator, independent power supply configuration

Nobody has posted this so I thought I would as there is no specification. stated in the description: I determined 11.5 to 13.25 mA as the required current of the power pack, which in my opinion is primarily intended for the display (7 to 8 possible digits lit up, 4 voltages and 4 currents, with different digital segments). This was measured with an independent power supply configuration (but even that didn't make much of a difference). That means I connected a thin red wire to the positive…
