Outstanding resolution at a competitive price.

Philips DVDs are my choice for recording HD TV programs. They have no failure rate and are always reliable. This batch arrived in sealed factory packaging and was delivered safely and on time.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Faulty

Phillips Brand 16X DVD+R media, 100 pcs per box

Phillips Brand 16X DVD+R media, 100 pcs. packed up. The main reason I bought this 100 pack was because the reviews seemed pretty good, the price is competitive, and the Phillips name has a long history of well-made products. I have not yet used these particular DVDs from this purchase but have used them in the past and have always been pleased with the results. Great product at a great price and fast shipping!

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • High price

Good choice for DVD+R

This DVD brand has been my regular (or standard) choice for at least five years. The only problem is that it usually takes a three hour round trip to a Frys store in Burbank, California to "get the job done". Finding the same item on Revain for the same price (and free shipping) was a huge relief. I don't know if the quality was an A, but it's good (and reliable) (unlike some brands) and at least reasonably priced. Bad slices? I've had them for a LONG time!

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Best Buy Blank Media

We use hundreds of these media a year for our community. They work very well and we rarely have a "bad" drive that doesn't burn. Great price, great product. The only downside is that most are made by Revain and for some reason they don't pack well. On three orders in a row, the plastic case containing the disc was smashed, and on one order, the disc was scattered inside the box. They were still working, but "Hey Revane, I think you can do better."

Pros
  • Handy Item
Cons
  • Factor Set

100 more bad DVDs

I use a lot of DVDs. I've found that I have more bad DVDs (can't/can't burn to this disc) with Phillips than with Memorex or Verbatim. I've always thought that one brand is no different from the other, except for label printing - I think that's not true because I really find the difference with the Phillips brand - a negative difference.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Upgradable

ERROR CAN'T WRITE TO THIS DISC

Either I got a bad batch or I'll stop using blank PHILLIPS DVDs. I only have 10 discs and half of them won't burn properly. It's frustrating when it takes THREE DVDs to create a "get it" disc. Buyer warning!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Some cons

Fast shipping Good quality blank DVDs

So far I've had great success with this DVD spindle. My DVD burner is a bit picky when it comes to burning home DVDs of movies and data. I think it has more to do with the age of my burner than anything else as I have seen it increase the number of stands of different brands over the years. This batch of Phillips DVDs have had no problems so far and that makes me a happy buyer!

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Outside

A good choice for blank media

This DVD brand is my regular (or primary) choice and has been my choice for at least five years now. Pros
  • Accessories and consumables
Cons
  • So far so good

Some are scratched

This is said to be the spindle of new DVD+Rs. And those that were scratched were obviously not recorded. I went through half of the 100 (about 55) and the top 6 were scratched (the top of the spindle). The rest was fine. I hope the BOTTOM of the stack is ok. With that said, I bought 94 (hopefully) DVDs for a little over $26, which is 27.7 cents per DVD. This is an average value for medium quality DVDs. I haven't tested them for long term failure (I have a couple of Philips that are about two…

Pros
  • DVD+Rs
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
