Great motor

I recently replaced my Industriepfaff's clutch motor with this one. It works really well, it's small and doesn't always spin which is nice. It is very quiet and has good pedal control. I gave 4 stars because I don't think the cruise control really does anything. I was hoping it would set the top speed and then the pedal would provide precise control up to that speed. In practice this does not seem to be the case. When I turn the speed dial all the way the motor doesn't move at all, but once…

"Go To " Server Motor

This rating refers to the 550 watts. TBH - I'm a bit surprised by the quality of this motor. As far as I can tell, there's nothing like that in Revain. The hand control knob for speed resistance feels comfortable and smooth. The cork brake is a great safety feature. The motor doesn't look like a "toy" like other Revain servo motors, it has some weight. Comes with a spare cork brake and brushes which I will probably never use unless I start sewing. There is no pedal control lever in the kit so I

How did I live without her?

A few months ago I bought an old Singer 96-40 (industrial sewing machine) on Ebay. It had the original Singer clutch motor. Love, love, love for the car - but the clutch motors run constantly when the car is on - and they are very noisy. Every time I turned it on, it felt like opening an airport. In earnest! I'm also pretty sure the operation added about $35 a month to my electric bill. Then I did a little research and found that these SERVOS are available. Mine changed fairly easily - didn't…

Pros
  • Ease of use and quiet operation Easily adjust the speed of the SM-550 motor with the speed controller conveniently located on the side of the motor. Once properly adjusted, the SM-550 runs smoothly and is virtually silent.
Cons
  • High price
