Epson ES 300 Wireless Printer

This scanner is amazing. I have used the ScanSnap in the past and was about to order one for my home office. I've seen Epson and read a lot of reviews. Epson was cheaper and had the added feature of a color scanner, so I gave it a try. I'm not disappointed. It does everything the ScanSnap can and more for a fraction of the cost. Epson's portability is another added bonus. I can easily take it to the site so my customers can scan their documents quickly and efficiently. If like me you're torn…

even though I felt like an engineer

Absolutely awful awful scanner. I've never had more trouble setting anything up. If you are a Mac user and want to use this with Wi-Fi, forget it. After an hour of frustration, I called tech support and finally got it working despite feeling like an engineer. (Understand this: Even if you finally figured out a way to connect the scanner to your network, you can't choose your network name. You have to type it in. No big deal, just a software design hint. .Oh, and you don't tell you to first…

  • Update available

This scanner meets many of the scanner needs I was looking for: compact and easy to store, automatic document feeder, duplex scanning, and Android app support. Although the Android app isn't as polished and user-friendly as it could be, I was eventually able to figure out the right settings and it did a good job. This helped bring order to a box of old documents. After six months the scanner developed a wide black line (see my uploaded photos) which others here are seeing now. Although I was…

Great hardware, terrible software!

Installation: This scanner is extremely difficult to set up (MacOS Sierra) for use on a wireless network. I had to look for an application called EpsonNet Config that wasn't listed on the ES-300W support page and found it on an older model scanner. The only other setup option is to use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), which is a security risk and should be disabled on your router. OCR over the air. One of the great features of this scanner is the ABBYY software that gives excellent OCR results…

Good with lots of room for improvement.

Well I've been using it for 3 months and now it's time to give a review. While this scanner definitely helped declutter my filing cabinet, it came at the cost of a long and difficult learning curve. I'm happy with the overall quality of the scan and the speed is great. But figuring out the settings and the software was awful. The device has several software packages, all of which are very confusing. You need to install at least 3 programs: Document Capture Pro, Epson Scan 2 and ABBYY…

and I am very happy with this purchase

this scanner just arrived this week. I have spent a lot of time shopping and am very happy with this purchase. The automatic feeder is almost perfect - it feeds each sheet in turn, it hasn't (yet) creased or warped, it supports double-sided scanning. I've put paper in it a few times and found that the software thinks the document feeder is empty, but deleting and reinserting the documents seems to fix that. Epson's software isn't great, and installing it on my wireless network was downright…

  • some errors

Not the easiest setup for wireless use. The software was fine. The single-sided scans and the front of the double-sided supports were always slightly crooked (perhaps the sensor was never properly aligned). Once you got past the fiddly Wi-Fi setup and scanner that sometimes captures multiple pages at once, everything worked fine for a while. Then, about 3 years after purchase, a large vertical black stripe (running from top to bottom of the page) appears on the right side of the page with every

  • The list will be long.

This is a review of the Epson WorkForce ES-300W Wireless Duplex Color Scanner. I treat this Epson scanner with love and hate. . The idea of having a battery powered, relatively portable scanner that scans quickly and with high quality is very appealing. What is most frustrating about the scanner is the difficult initial setup and the frequent document jams I get, especially when trying to scan business cards that are far from perfect condition. I may not be the most tech-savvy person on the…
