Every Detail Matters: See the difference with 2K resolution and keep an eye on what’s happening outside with more clarity than ever before. SoloCam E40’s 8GB of local storage holds at least 2 months of footage protected by military encryption, so your data is kept private and safe. Alerts That Matter: The on-device AI only notifies you when people are detected, reducing false alerts triggered by passing animals or swaying tree branches. 100% Wire-Free: SoloCam E40 is completely standalone; there’s no need for HomeBase. Simply set it up and you’re good to go. And because it’s 100% wire-free, it takes just minutes to install anywhere around your home. Single cameras are slow to respond

Older cameras like the C20 and C22 respond to recorded images much faster than newer single cameras. That's too bad, I wish they had a better response time.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models

You should definitely wait for the S40.

Eufy Security's S40 model is scheduled to be available at the end of August. If you have enough direct sunlight, this is the best choice. The E40 is a great camera, but the battery life is far from good (2-3 weeks max). It's still a very good product if you can charge the battery frequently.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Legacy Model

Great camera and software but terrible battery life = main problem

The camera itself is excellent. The software is fast and responsive, but the battery life is terrible on these devices. About 2 weeks on a full charge on medium settings. That doesn't even come close to the 120 days advertised in the marketing. In this scenario, you need to buy solar panels at $66 per panel. This is a very misleading description of the production.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Bad battery life (2 weeks)

I really want to like this camera. The software is intuitive and motion detection works well. But I can't recommend it because the battery life was terrible for me. It consumes about 7% per day (16 days of battery life) despite being in battery saver mode in a low-traffic area (<5 events per day), and only stores 1080p videos. This is a new product so I would recommend waiting to see if this is a widespread issue or if I just got a lemon.

Pros
  • Trial version for one year
Cons
  • No automatic mode

Okedokee So Far… for Bullet Cameras

Well, I'm honored to be the first reviewer, maybe the first to include it. Just add it to the Eufy Security app along with my Eufy Video Doorbell. Although I haven't installed it outside yet, the video is crisp and clear. After mounting it and letting it sit in the sun for a few days I'll be back and updating this. Well, the installation was as easy as it gets. And the wide angle gave me a lot more view than I expected since the goal was to hide my generator in the first place, but as you can…

  • Highest Score for Support and Durability from Testers

Local data storage only!

I have several other eufy indoor cameras that don't require a base station so given the new outdoor cameras I decided to try one as I needed to see what pest was eating my plants in the garden. . This camera does the job well. I found out that a pocket gopher is sneaking up in front of me. So I got what I needed this camera for. BUT! This camera only has local storage! No RTSP, unlike other eufy (and other POE) cameras I have. For the version with integrated solar panel, this will be a crucial…

Happy with the product. But I'm mad at the promotional coupon.

This 1 star review is not related to the product but to their marketing strategy. I spent $1.99 on a promotional coupon prior to the launch of the E40 in early July 2021. I could have used the $30 coupon when the item was in the stork, which I did. I bought the E40 for $99 after the coupon as soon as it appeared on Revain. But today this new mode is available at Revain for the same price of $99 with no coupons. Why should I waste my $2 on a coupon that expires in 30 days? It's not a small…

Very happy with my purchase

While it won't completely replace a wired POE/NVR camera system, it works very well. I have a couple of these cameras at home and they have been working for a few weeks now. They work as advertised and have a very good picture and performance. I was concerned about the amount of onboard storage, but it seems capable of handling multiple lines of video without taking up much space, even at 2K. I was concerned about battery life so I bought a solar panel for each of my cameras and this setup has…

Eh It could be better.

I bought this camera to complement my Arlo Pro2 cameras, but if I could buy another Arlo Pro2 camera I would buy it. Don't get me wrong, this camera would be a direct competitor, but it lacks the features and functionality that I enjoy on my current system.1. When I installed the camera, I powered it directly from an outlet in the garage. This included a blue loading light that draws attention to the camera. I couldn't figure out if there is a way to turn off this light. Maybe a solar panel…
