That does not work. Security

I could not get this item to work. I've tried it in several doors thinking it just doesn't fit because maybe our walls or door openings weren't level. Tried in someone else's house. Two more tried. Nobody could get it to work. We just couldn't find the tension to hold this thing in place. Not once did all 4 points hit the wall at the same time. Have returned this item.

The build quality has probably deteriorated over the years

We use the gate to herd our bunny into the kitchen area. We received this gate on Tuesday to replace an almost identical gate which broke after fifteen years of use. On Friday our 5 year old son somehow managed to break the locking lever in half. He ran our old gate the whole time with no problems. The build quality must have deteriorated over the years.

  • Everything is fine!

Great for Dogs!: Gates and Gate Extensions

I used this gate on my dog when he was a puppy. I had to get a new one as I couldn't get a new one when I moved. I love these goals. It's the perfect height to hold the dog (just remember to place the bar on the opposite side of the dog or they could use it as a "step" to jump over) and I can still go with 5 Step 4 inches above it. ". My dog can jump over the shorter version of this gate, and this one is longer for more uses.

Great for cat shows

I have this cat show gate. We separated a new cat and we needed something so the two cats could still see each other but not annoy each other. The gate is quite high and the new cat who is almost 2 years old has not tried to jump over it yet. The other cat is too old to jump high. I think since there is no ledge there the cats won't jump over it. Although I can be wrong. I figured a very agile kitten could climb it. My new cat is quite agile and can jump high but can't get over the gate. The…

The bolt on the gate does not match the image in the online ad

The size of the gate was what I expected and the price was right. I have another gate with a latch that is open at the bottom. These gates are very easy to turn on and off. Judging by the picture in the ad, I thought so. However, a door arrived with a closed end plastic latch which is very difficult to lock and unlock. It broke on first use. I am sending it back and will not buy again unless they send what they advertise in the picture on the website. I feel cheated because I looked at many ads

Smart cat, not very smart owner.

I bought this to use outside on the patio to keep the cat inside. I needed gates that were wider and higher than normal. Almost 46 inches wide and 32 inches high, larger since I don't have it flush with the deck floor. This easily reaches a width of about 50 inches. I didn't want to pay a lot so it was definitely a good price. It arrived very quickly and was perfectly packaged. Easy to take out of the box. Setup took a few nanoseconds. Seth the cat looked at him thinking he could jump over him…

what the heck are you thinking

Like many other reviewers, I scratch my head and wonder why a manufacturer took a simple, popular product that was used successfully by millions and redesigned it has to make it almost useless. One of the wooden "arms" needs to be able to be raised to allow the gate to adjust its width to the desired size, then it needs to be lowered and snapped onto the sides of the opening. Of course, this will not happen if you attach both wooden handles to each other with the new "bulk clip". New gates are…

THIS THING REALLY WORKS!

I DON'T BELIEVE IT. After trying (unsuccessfully) to barricade my #20 Miniature Schnauzer puppy in the bedroom, NOTHING worked. I tried my hundred pound TV chair, he jumped over it. I then attached a wooden box and office chair to the wall and he STILL managed to escape and ran around the house like he owned it. He was like Guddini, a master of unleashing. But before I gave up I ordered this inexpensive larger gate and tried it out today. AND IT WORKS GREAT! If I could give it ten stars…

keep the animal

I like how big it is! I ordered this because my 2 year old woke up in the morning and came out of his room very quietly and started rummaging around the house before I woke up. This completely fixed the problem. He will try to climb it, but the wire mesh will hurt his legs if he puts weight on it. It's not spicy or anything, just uncomfortable. I noticed a review where someone said the stick broke trying to pinch it. And it's true, like most baby gates, the wood is brittle, but if you stretch…
