This set has everything I need to work with leather except pliers. I mainly do small projects like patches on hats or small magazines. This includes a large selection of waxed yarn colors. There are different types of needles depending on the project. The included tools make threading a lot easier.

I made about 5 inches of baseball stitching along the edge of the leather seat. The renovation is on! I am very happy with the purchase. It was a huge money saver! The downside is that it's easy to slip and injure your hand if you don't know what you're doing. These tools can be somewhat dangerous. However, I was able to escape unscathed. I'm not sure about the next guy or what's next.

Overall I wouldn't advise anyone to buy this as such but it's definitely not quite as described and pictured. As you can see in my pictures, the tools included are very small. On the left are Tandy's full-size "professional" instruments (mine) and on the right are the kit ones. The awl popped right out of the box at the base. The finger guard is the perfect size for my small hand but may be an issue for someone with large hands.

The thread seems to be strong. I love variety. Slightly upset that the wax coating came off very very easily. The big disappointment for me was the lack of strength of the curved needles. The little one lasted exactly one stitch before the eye burst. Then I switched to a big one and it broke after 2 stitches. Luckily I got by with one of the straight needles. I have included pictures of broken needles and a riding saddle being repaired. It's a thin, soft skin.

I plan to use this product to complement my pumpkin art with pine needles or other materials. ADVANTAGES: Different colors of waxed threads are perfect for my creativity. Large selection of needle sizes. The thimble ring is great for pushing the needle through. Excellent thread with a sharp end. CONS: One of the rolls of waxed floss looks like half of the floss is gone. Unfortunately, that's the only color I like the most. I have to remember that you get what you pay for. Thread colors are beautiful. They're not super waxed, but they're not unwaxed either, so I'm fine with that. There are tools. OK. I guess it fits. All seem to stay together as one piece, but one has wood splinters on top, was assembled crookedly and has paint drips and is therefore not very comfortable to grip. They are also quite small.
