Nearly perfect. in testers

Pros: -Very solid and well built Selector switch and buttons feel very good -Fast and accurate Cons: -Disgusting display -Blurry from many angles This is definitely a solid multimeter. Everything is easy to hold and seems to last forever. The only drawback is the display. That's significantly worse than the free Harbor Freight Multimeter. Viewing angles are terrible, especially when backlit. I'm not sure if they're all like this or just a few, but be aware of this issue.

excellent bang for your buck

excellent bang for your buck. The only thing I don't like is that you have to press the hold button to hold the current reading whereas on the Fluke 73 which I'm used to you press the hold button and then when you go and check your wires or Plug either way, it will beep and read as soon as you get it. this is very important for me as an automotive technician, since i usually don't measure directly in front of me and it's difficult for me to always see the screen when i'm crooked, upside down…

Excellent meter but no repair when broken

I like this meter. It has served me well for about 6 years of (very light) use. Unfortunately, the rotary knob started to give me problems - when I select VDC, the meter doesn't always register that mode unless I wiggle the dial. I called Fluke for repair costs and was told the unit was over 3 years old and could not be repaired. I was offered a small discount on a new purchase, but it's only $15 less than retail. I love this gauge, but it's a shame Fluke doesn't support this product or offer a

For professionals, enthusiasts and the general home

I bought the 115 for home use but I can attest that it's perfect for troubleshooting any situation. I'm an electrician and have worked on diesel-electric locomotives, which have a staggering AC/DC combination, and hydroelectric locomotives, which run primarily on AC. I have used several different flukes in my career and in my humble opinion I could have used this 115 in any situation I found myself in. It is durable yet small and portable. I used this particular Fluke to troubleshoot my house's

Most accurate meter I have ever owned

I have owned several digital meters for many years and they all seemed fine until I started getting results measuring low voltage DC from Compare LiPo batteries. The readings were close, but not close enough for me to be comfortable. Decided it was time to buy a new meter. So I went to the local depot and returned home with a very good meter. The brand new gauge was also slightly defective and didn't match my LiPo charger, so I settled on a Fluke 115. This gauge is accurate to within 0.5% of…

LCD DISPLAY UNWORTHY OF FLUKE

I love Fluke gauges and the gauges that were made in the USA back in the 80's were gems but crap shipped out of China (like this one) should never be Fluke branded unless you look at it the meter tilted away from you LCD. at 115 it is very blurry and at any angle above the display the readings are not visible. Add to that the stand, which doesn't tilt the meter back far enough for the display to be in full contrast (although I suppose if you're a fairly short person, that would be the ideal…

Disappointing short signal range and terrible test leads

At first, the included test leads reminded me of a set of cheap patch cords in the winter; hard and with a good memory. Luckily I had a much better set of silicone leads - I'll probably never use the ones that came with them, except maybe for dirty work - and I gave them a shot - they've been hanging on a peg next to my bench for a week now. Now the shape hasn't changed, everything is just as zigzag and springy. I've never seen such a chunky set of Fluke test leads, it's really disappointing…

Good Electrical Multimeter

Years ago when I was bloody poor and needed a multimeter I bought it for thirty bucks at an auto parts store because I couldn't afford anything better. It's served me well for troubleshooting, mostly basic automotive stuff, but recently it finally gave up its dying breath when the batteries drained their contents and the terminals were severely corroded. I cleaned them and put in new batteries but the readings were wrong and I couldn't trust them. As my financial situation improved, I decided…

Great gauge! LCD Contrast Fix

I bought my Fluke 115 new from Revain in March 2016. Fantastic measuring device with a low-contrast display, at least that's what I thought. Read on if you are having display problems with these Fluke Series (114, 115, 117) DMM models. BENEFITS: - Accurate, high quality body and stand, easy to use - Convenient min/max and range functions - Perfect size and accuracy for 95% of what I do with a DMM in my engineering lab - Rugged, although mine was in my closed lab all my life (4 years) - Fluke…
