Windows 10 driver is terrible

The scanner keeps losing connection with the Windows 10 computer and I have to go through this recovery procedure. This is a major pain and rarely works reliably. We have to restart several times for the scanner to be recognized. We also have a ScanSnap ix500 and it's having the same driver issue these days. Multi-page scan detection does not work as expected. You have to do a lot by hand. Also, the metadata for the pages is hidden somewhere in the application (not in the PDF), so you can't…

Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 scanner.

It saves time photographing every page in the book. Even if the software leaves a lot to be desired. Fingertip removal should be done on each side and 80% of the time you need to adjust the size of the selected area to cover the entire fingerprint. Color recognition is average, about 1 page out of 10 shows the wrong size. Generally not bad but I was hoping for something better from the Fijitsu brand. The scanner itself is decent, but the software needs an overhaul or allows the scanner to be…

The software is terrible.

The software is terrible. There is no way to backup and restore things. If you scan a 200-page book, create a PDF, and see a problem, you don't get a chance to go back to the images and fix it. you are gone You have to scan the book from scratch. And the software will do strange things. You must manually define the boundaries of each pair of pages with separation between the two pages. Well, the last time I did this, the program decided to make each pair of pages a single page in the PDF…

Fujitsu SV600 Overhead Book Scanner

I like the Fujitsu overhead book scanner for scanning large magazines and books. The scanner works well for quick scans but requires software tweaks as others have suggested. Scan quality varies and requires some page manipulation to create high quality scans. I use a plexiglass board to hold up book pages when legibility is important. Anyone using this overhead scanner will need Adobe Acrobat DC to make corrections. I believe Adobe Acrobat DC now comes bundled with the Fujitsu overhead scanner

I like this thing the most in Document Scanner

I'm in the process of digitizing everything I can. I have a document scanner and it works great but obviously it's not good for books or other bulky items and it's not good for photos. Since I really liked how Scan Snap works, I bought a Scan Snap SV600. I love it. It was just as easy to set up as a document scanner and just as easy to use. After watching videos on You Tube I bought a clear acrylic sheet at the hardware store to hold the books (no need to scan your fingertips anymore). The…

GREAT IDEA, BAD IMPLEMENTATION

I like this concept. It scans pretty much everything that sheet-fed scanners can't. It's not as big as it looks, about the size of a banker's desk lamp, and takes up very little desk space. You can connect multiple ScanSnap scanners - sheetfed and document scanners - and easily switch from one to another; the software automatically recognizes which device is being used and uses the appropriate driver: However, the implementation was very disappointing. o Colors and grayscale look acceptable…

Pros

Cons
  • poorly thought out

Just started but am a bit frustrated that I don't have control over things like permission or even the ability to disable page break detection and scan page at a time at the required speed. first impression very promising product, very limited software. Update - I've been using the scanner for a little longer and am more convinced that this is the software I don't like. I'm having trouble getting consistent results because there seems to be some sort of auto-cropping going on that turns my…

Deeply frustrating software

I agree 100% with William Roberts the software for this product is rubbish. If you're just scanning a few pages, that's no big deal, if you're going to scan and edit a whole 300-page book, you're in for a horrible time. I originally bought this thinking it would be quick and easy to copy my books, but holy shit. I managed to write a book of about 300 pages just by writing about 100 pages at a time. I wasn't able to write 300 pages at once, although that could be frustrating. You'll probably…
