The software is terrible. There is no way to backup and restore things. If you scan a 200-page book, create a PDF, and see a problem, you don't get a chance to go back to the images and fix it. you are gone You have to scan the book from scratch. I like the Fujitsu overhead book scanner for scanning large magazines and books. The scanner works well for quick scans but requires software tweaks as others have suggested. Scan quality varies and requires some page manipulation to create high quality scans. I use a plexiglass board to hold up book pages when legibility is important. I agree 100% with William Roberts the software for this product is rubbish. If you're just scanning a few pages, that's no big deal, if you're going to scan and edit a whole 300-page book, you're in for a horrible time. I originally bought this thinking it would be quick and easy to copy my books, but holy shit. I managed to write a book of about 300 pages just by writing about 100 pages at a time.
