not a Musashi but better

1st the sword I got was from onikiri not Musashi(they are the same company and steel just different name). The sword shown on ebay picture is not from the Daimyo line. That line is their TH 1045 blades, and the picture looks to be one of the DH 1060 ones possibly which have a genuine hamon and is stamped on the habaki as such, the Onikiri brand have a wire brushed fake hamon. So that not what the swords really looks like. It's lame that the picture they provide is misleading, though. Now the…

Musha katana for my opinion

Honestly, better than I expected for the price. it's a musha. Not musashi brand , but still pretty decent blade. Not quite razor sharp, but sharp enough to cut fruit and water bottles. Fits tight, doesn't rattle. Handle is tight, the synthetic ray skin doesn't look bad either. Well worth the money, I'd recommend for a first timer or a cheapy to swing around in the backyard.

Pros
  • Martial Arts
Cons
  • The blade can be easily damaged if not handled with care, making it a potentially high-maintenance item

So far so good! for my opinion

Just received this sword not 20 minutes ago.Pros: Solid. No wiggling (yet). Came pre-oiled and decently sharp - not razor sharp, but it cut through the shipping cardboard with no issue :) Good weight. Blade is straight with no imperfections on the hamon.Cons: Medium sized scratch on the habaki. Tsuba had lite scratches (looks to be during machining). 3-4 very small scratches on base of the blade where it meets the habaki. (2-3mm long).Neutral: The saya and sageo are average. Looks good…

Musha not Mushsahi best in my review

First off they call this handmade Musashi samurai sword because its a replica of the sword the famed samurai Miyamoto Musashi had, but its not made by the manufacturer Mushashi(high end stuff). Musha makes this and for the price its pretty good, it might be hit or miss with some folks but I have no blade wobble or the like. For the price its solid, full tang(most important imo). But its not very sharp ,OK for my needs. Definitely a good buy.P.S. just bought another musha, albeit unknowingly…

Cons
  • It may be challenging to sharpen the blade properly without prior experience

wonderful sword on my review.

This sword is amazing. Every other bad review that you'll read is either their pickyness or something they did that they want to blame the seller for. This sword is full tang, high cb steel, and sharp (passed the paper test and cut right through my shipping box). But there are two things that a buyer should about this sword. There is a china engravement on the habaki (which is BARELY visible) and the tsuba (the guard) rattles slightly. But even though it has the china engravement, its very…

musashi katana for my opinion

this is the first katana or "real sword" I have ever baught and the first I ever purchased online. it is beautiful, the heft is perfect and is a delight to the hands and eyes. delivery was very fast and I received it in only 4 days. I researched online before my purchase, and learned what I could about katanas and as I looked through amazon found this beauty at an amazing price as new. my only complaint is as I first extended it out in front of me I noticed the blade curve ever so slightly to…

Pros
  • Enhanced Control - The unique ring on the handle allows for improved grip and control, making this sword an excellent choice for expert samurai warriors and beginners alike
Cons
  • It may not be safe to use the sword around children or pets

nice sword for the price

Nice sword. tsuba is solid, no rattles. out of the box sharp, not razor, but sharp. too tight of a fit in the saya, but a little filing/sanding made it just right. Good back yard cutter for price, good sword for iaido practice or decoration. Blade is a little soft, nicks easy but sharpens right back up. If you want a good sword for a good price this is an excellent buy.

Pros
  • Black scabbard
Cons
  • It may be difficult to find the right occasion to display or use a sword like this

Extremely good value for the money

I ordered this sword a bit anxiously due to other reviews posted. But I must say, I am very satisfied. First, I paid for two-day shipping and received it in that exact amount of time. It was packed within a box inside another box, so it was in very good condition. The full tang blade was neither loose nor poorly made, even for an inexpensive one. It was well-oiled and even had a silica packet in the box to protect from corrosion. The sword is also wrapped in a tied nylon cover. When people say…

Uchigatana on a budget, UPDATED REVIEW.

Second Sword I bought a second one so I could have a backup sword, as in the Eddo period it was law that all Samurai have two swords. I am surprised and impressed by the improvements made. The metal spacer on the mouth of the saya is very secure, the blade wasn't dirty when I got it. It was covered in the kind of oil you use to polish steel, what a nice touch. It was easy to polish with my cloth. Beautiful. I am very pleased with both of my purchases. This sword also came with a sword bag with…
