I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

Excellent timepiece for those who run. Straightforward and dependable. The charge is still firmly in place. One week of continuous wear, provided that there is also five days of training. Recommended for beginner runners.

Pros
  • Accuracy of the GPS, a screen that is not touch-sensitive, a strap that is comfortable to wear, good synchronization with the phone, and the capacity to construct workouts

After various fitness bracelets and inexpensive Chinese sports watches, I am delighted with the Garmin Forerunner 45. They look decent and satisfy all (okay, almost all - they screwed me with the pool) of my needs. I must admit, I doubted for a while - I was worried about disconnections with the phone. Then, as luck would have it, immediately after my purchase, Garmin had a failure. Ransomware hackers attacked the servers and the service went down for a week. The watch worked autonomously, theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • The watch is good both in appearance - it looks stylish and rich, and in its functionality. This is a great option for runners and cyclists. Perfectly count tracks, send (if necessary) activity to Strava, monitor lifestyle and show notifications from the phone. Almost merged with the hand, felt like family. In addition to sports data (heart rate, number of steps and other health indicators), it is convenient that you can see the weather and control the music player without taking your phone out of your pocket.
Cons
  • A very limited list of activities - running, walking, treadmill, biking, cardio. There is no swimming, and this is upsetting. So a complete health map cannot be compiled. Not only can you not record a swim in the pool, but the vaunted Garmin Move IQ algorithm defines swimming as an ellipsoid. From time to time they lose connection with the iPhone - I think it's in the application, because in the Bluetooth settings the clock is displayed as active. The location is not immediately determined. After starting a workout, you have to walk a little for the GPS signal to be displayed in green. It doesnโ€™t really bother me - just the right distance to gather my courage before the start of the race, but cheap Chinese sports watches caught the satellite faster. Unreasonably high prices from official sellers. In America, these watches are much cheaper.

Not purple. Blue.

I have purchased a total of 6 Garmin fitness trackers/watches over the past 5 years and they have all worked well and have never had any major problems. (Except the Fenix 5 doesn't track heart rate during activities, but I believe that's due to its weight making it difficult for the watch to stay in place). The 45S that I bought for my wife is no exception. My only complaint is that the packaging and picture of Revain shows the product to be purple, just like the name. But the product itself is

Bluetooth won't reconnect to iPhone

After the Bluetooth connection to my iPhone dropped, the watch won't reconnect. This scenario will happen to most people on a regular basis. To reconnect you will need to power cycle your watch and/or sometimes go through the pairing process again. I literally do this 3+ times a day. Garmin sent me a replacement and the same thing is happening with the new watch. This appears to be a known issue with the iPhone that Garmin has been unable to resolve. If you have an iPhone, don't buy this watch.

  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add

Not worth the money! on sports and handheld gps

Love it when it's plugged in but needs constant re-syncing and now having connection issues at all :(. Not too happy with this money purchase. Update 24.07 - not again paired / Garmin support got back to me asking me to back up the data to a computer to save the info as it couldn't pair your apps?! It was so unreliable that I've been tracking other apps because I never know when they will break I asked for a refund because of that I activated support from Garmin to turn off bluetooth then turnโ€ฆ

Died at 4 months

My 45 just passed away after about 4 months. Completely dead. Nothing worked. I have contacted support. You will replace him. But it wasn't until I sent in the defective watch that they sold me back to them at my expense. They won't send me a replacement until they get the defective piece of crap they sold me. There is no excuse for this watch ($199!) ruining the bed after 4 months and no reason I have to pay to have this crappy watch sent back to them.

Pros
  • Security and location features include event detection (during certain activities) that sends your real-time location to emergency contacts via a paired compatible smartphone.
Cons
  • Not sure

Garmin customer service is best in class (on par with Revain)

I pre-ordered a Garmin Foreunner 45s in white. Before I get into the specifics of the watch itself (I've had the 35, 235 and some Vivo watches and smaller for years) I'd first like to thank Garmin customer service and give them an A+ rating. If I had problems with the watch for years, the watch was always replaced if they couldn't fix it. For complex technical issues, Garmin always has a tech representative (like Eric) who can answer the tough question and help you along the way, e.g. GPSโ€ฆ

Great GPS running watch for the price!

I am very happy with this purchase. As a casual runner, I chose the Forerunner 45S because I need a GPS watch with buttons instead of a touchscreen and very limited smart notifications (I don't need a full smartwatch). Here are a few pros and cons that stand out. Pros: + Great for tracking runs (treadmill and outdoors), walks, and ellipticals + Buttons are easy to navigate (much better than the Forerunner 25S I upgraded from!) + Great HR zone data after each workout + Highly customizable andโ€ฆ

Finally a smaller predecessor!

Update July 18th: I started wearing the 45 to sleep. That really shows REM. He does not offer an impulse bull. 45s works great with my Scosche Rhythm+ heart rate monitor. As usual with wrist heart rate monitors, I have to lift 45 kilograms higher on my arm and put some strain on them during the workout when swinging my arms. It's easier for me to use Rhythm+ during class because I already have it. The 2.60 firmware update did not fix the notification issue I reported in my original review, butโ€ฆ
