just try it you won’t be disappointed

What a beast of a pry bar! I have had the next size smaller for several years and finally splurged for this behemoth. If you have never tried an adjustable prybar and you do any sort of wrenching for a living, just try it you won’t be disappointed

Pros
  • The pry bar is compatible with different types and sizes of fasteners, making it versatile in its applications
Cons
  • The tool can’t withstand heavy duty prying without bending

Well worth the money

Adjustable pry bar is well worth every penny you spend on it I'm a maintenance tech at a big industry I use this thing several times a day a large pumps and motors the thing I'll handle anything you throw at it fully adjusted I just wished Allison this a long time ago because it sure has made things a lot easier.

Pros
  • Stout tool that holds up to abuse. Being able to change the paw angle is a game changer.
Cons
  • Hard to find replacements parts if something breaks

Better than expected

This thing is awesome! How did I go this long as a professional tech without this thing? It's very good at getting you just the leverage you need. I use it everyday now. Had this one next to my buddy's snap on one. Identical. And more than half the price.

Pros
  • The 33-inch length of this pry bar allows you to exert more leverage on tough-to-remove components
Cons
  • The locking mechanism may wear out and require repair/adjustment

Awesome just awesome.

Love the telescoping handle and indexing head. Since receiving the tool I’ve used it several times including today while removing and replacing a vacuum and motor weighing in the neighborhood of 600 pounds. This tool has quickly become my favorite of my collection.

Pros
  • Works great
Cons
  • Hard to grip in wet or oily conditions

Handy and compacted for storage.

I’ve used this pry bar several times since purchasing it. When collapsed it easily stores in my smaller toolbox. With the adjustability of both length and positioning this is a very versatile tool. Would highly recommend it for anyone who has to pry work in close quarters.

Pros
  • The indexing feature of the pry bar allows you to adjust the angle of attack for more precise results
Cons
  • Despite being lightweight, still requires two hands to grip

Favorite tool in the truck

I work as a hydraulic field technician. This bar is very versatile and tough. The extension is great when you need it longer, the indexing head makes it easier to get leverage at angles that wouldn't be possible with straight heads, and it's built very sturdy. If you use tools to pry, get more leverage, and realign parts, this bar is great. Plus, being Gearwrench, it has a lifetime warranty. And on another note, this same bar is $200 on the Matco truck, only other place I've seen it.

Pros
  • The pry bar is extendable, giving you even more length and leverage when needed
Cons
  • At full extension, it can be top-heavy

Awesome tool to my arsenal.

What a great tool. Very impressive of what I have done with it. I would suggest this pry bar to any heavy equipment mechanic.

Pros
  • The indexing feature of the pry bar allows you to work on components in more confined areas
Cons
  • The indexing is not as precise as it could be

What is really nice about this tool

What is really nice about this tool, it allows you to use it in the way you think when you need leverage, or to pry etc, If you can visualize the need for this tool, it will do it, the claw and is quite good and also strong, it will let you get not only the leverage, it also makes up the gap, by what angle you fix it at, it is a huge need to be able to cover virtually all possible uses/situations in the auto industry. Highly recommend this tool.

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • Could be cumbersome to carry around on a job site

situation ready for my opinion

this is one heavy duty pry bar. the indexable head makes it so versatile it has so many uses. a step above of conventional pry bars. would definitely buy again. gonna get another one to keep in my truck

Pros
  • Expandable and adjustable to reach areas inaccessible to a fixed head tool for improved access
Cons
  • It might not be as durable as it could achieve

Use the Right Tool for the Job

We use this tool in our steel mill. If it’s sturdy enough to use in a steel mill, it’s a great addition for a home tool. Used it to pry fencing posts out of ground yesterday.

Pros
  • Impressive tool
Cons
  • Could be hard to control when prying

Beastly tool, but in a good way

So I've not exactly torture tested or tried to break this telescoping / adjustable hook pry bar and I don't that I feel the need to. Is it as strong as beefy solid steel pry bar? I'd guess it isn't. It's compact nature and versatility are the trade offs. That it's still very strong and at this moint I don't see me "putting my back into it" and physically breaking this beast. If I personally run into the job that requires that sort of force and this baby is out of its weight class I'll consider…

Pros
  • The indexing feature of the pry bar enables you to hold components securely while working on them
Cons
  • Products with an extendable handle are generally weaker than a one-piece tool

This is the best pry bar I've had

I work on the package handling systems at UPS. When I bought this pry bar I wasn't sure how much I would use it. It has been used a lot. It is very handy and with the adjustable head there is rarely a time when I need a bigger or solid pry bar. If you want versatility and usefulness this tool works. If you need a large bar get the bigger one.

Pros
  • The pry bar has a cleanup-friendly design, which makes it easy to maintain
Cons
  • Indexing ball can become stuck

Awesome tool to add to your collection!

I purchased this because I had a balljoint stuck on my car and couldn't remove it with a ball joint separator. This worked perfectly. The flexible head allowed me to get a bite on it from several different angles and the extendable length allowed me to get in tight spots and apply more leverage than with an average pry bar. Not to mention I only had to buy one pry bar instead of numerous ones of different lengths and angles. Very pleased so far!

Pros
  • This tool is great. I have used this tool many times to move all kinds of parts on cars and trucks.
Cons
  • Might be too expensive compared to other pry bars

Durability good for me

I work as a millwright and everything I've ever had to use this in parts motors anything it's held it weight and then some It''s good.

Pros
  • It's good
Cons
  • Could be cumbersome to transport to job sites

Judged this too soon

I had no faith in this product. I thought no way. It's going to break. Then I had to use it at work and I was blown away. Had to get one for home.

Pros
  • Have been waiting for something this good. It works great and very strong. So glad I finally have one
Cons
  • Could be prone to rust or corrosion

You won't regret this purchase!

I'd give this pry bar 500 🌟's if I could! Extremely high quality! Don't know how I survived as long as I did without this pry bar. Make sure you get the 82248-48 GearWrench. Don't get any of the imitations!

Pros
  • Great pry bar. Use in food factory very versatile and strong.
Cons
  • Might not be suitable for all types of prying jobs

The Gear Wrench indexable pry bars are a good choice if you need flexibility. The main feature is the move able head. This comes in handy when you need to get it in a tight spaces for prying. The extendable shaft is a nice feature to reduce its storage space, however this is why I dropped a star off its rating. I have purchased two of these, with the second one not being able to lock ar the shaft out of the package. This gives me concern over the durability and longevity of this feature. The…

Pros
  • Gearwrench makes good products, will continue to buy from them.
Cons
  • Might not fit in smaller tool boxes
