Compact and gigantic. - Marine Electronics

I have this for my kayak. This is the easiest electronic device to use that I have bought in a long time. Menus and scrolling are easy to navigate, the display is easy to see (I'm old and have poor eyesight) and the screen is big enough to see. I installed it about 3 feet in front of me and had no issues with visual tone or performance changes, even in wind and currents. It is also waterproof if the battery compartment is lubricated. The screws on the battery compartment cover are captive so…

The best portable fish finder

Bought as a gift but it was a bit selfish as it was for my soul mate :) This year we rented a boat and wanted to find a fish finder that we wouldn't buy . t should assemble. One that will come in handy offshore if we hit a bank here or there. We have yet to fish offshore with this but based on the design I don't think that will be a problem. It is extremely accurate as I also use it for diving so I depend on its accuracy. That's a lot of trust! Easily fits into a boat bag along with a tote bag…

I totally run! on marine electronics

I was skeptical at first as I had good luck again a few years ago with a fish finder in a similar price range which was a total failure. I got a new kayak so thought I'd give it a try and if it doesn't work considering the price it won't hurt too much. I've been using a kayak in a bay for a few months - the fishing has been a success, mostly I've missed it. I took this viewfinder with little expectation. At first I was in shallow water, about 3-4 feet of water, reading the depth but no more. I…

I like it so far, a good accessory for my fishing kayak.

I give NorCross HawkEye FishTrax FT1PX 4 stars. I bought this for my Tarpon 140 fishing kayak. I connected it to the Scotty Transducer Arm Mount and the Scotty Portable Camera Mount. The echo sounder has a practical screw attachment. I thought Scotty's camera mount would easily hold the fish finder. I'm a minimalist when it comes to my fishing kayak. I don't want many things in it and I don't want many things attached to it. If I don't need or want to use the sonar, this setting allows me to…

First of all I am not affiliated with Revain or HawkEye. I recently took this FT1PXC on a remote fishing trip in Quebec, Canada with no prior experience with it. With a two day trip to the outfitter and the plane, I had plenty of time to read the instructions and play around with the unit. The instructions are sufficient and explain what I needed to know. Using the device in the water, from a boat, was relatively easy and without incident. Only the handling of the long cable and the handling of

Well made and efficient

When it arrived I was so impressed with the layout, display and controls that I ordered a second one for my boy. You don't have to worry about losing it when changing batteries on the water, and the base mount is a threaded metal insert that allows you to firmly attach the mount without worrying about stripping the threads. good as any budget rigid device and it has the same customization options. I simply used a 1/4"-20 stainless steel screw to attach mine to the spring clamp and clamped it to

Amazing little tool! (Once you figure it out.)

I really put off reviewing this device until I had enough time to test it out and choose a bit. I was mainly interested in this for the ice fishing flasher function, but I also needed a finder for my 14ft V hull. Numbers I would try to kill two birds with one stone. Right out of the box with factory settings, it accurately displayed the depth and temperature of the water. (Which is half the battle with these cheaper sonar units) The menus are very easy to navigate and the settings are easy to…
