I don't like everything. I hate that. Worse, I hate being lied to that something is generally appropriate when it's not. Stop lying and saying it fits some laptops. I can't even set him enough to try. So I don't know if it's worth a cent. Don't buy this. It's a waste of time.

Skip this article entirely as there is no such thing as a snug fit. This device has a gap of 1 cm at the top and 0.5 cm at the sides. Whoever designed this didn't fully test it on different laptops, desktops and servers! I was also disappointed that the SSD is not covered, the retractable key just sticking out like a sore thumb trying to prevent tampering. I do not recommend this to anyone!

Doesn't look hot swappable. Check the BIOS and other settings to ensure the SATA ports are configured for hot-swapping and set up perfectly. works for Dell Inspiron 3650 Desktop but it only works if I insert a disc before boot. If I remove the disc while the computer is on, this unit stops working. I also tested it on 2 other computers with the same results. The support was very good, but the problem remains unresolved. exchange somehow.

Attempting to get rid of the DVD drive and turn it into an extra hard drive bay for a very old Dell Latitude E6400 laptop. Still a workhorse with a minor update, it still has many years to come. However, this device will not work with a laptop. The bay is powered and the SSDs are powered. However, it is not recognized by the laptop.

The laptop does not recognize the docking station when inserted into the optical drive bay. I have been speaking to Icy Dock tech support for a few weeks now and have confirmed that it is not compatible with the M4800 as an ODD replacement. All is not lost as it works correctly when installed in an external USB3.

Not sure how this company is still doing. Had the exact same problem on a very similar device a few years ago. I spent a few days trying to fix this and sent the repair instructions to Ice Dock, but they still didn't help. To put it simply, if the laptop is compatible with the SATA specs, hello will disable that drive because it doesn't tell the host that it exists.
