When I first bought this mouse, it lasted over seven years before the right button finally failed. The second purchase of the same model showed problems from day one. The left button did not work properly. It jumped when I left-clicked, sometimes highlighting the entire page, sometimes nothing at all. Dragging with the left button was also very problematic, sometimes skipping the beginning or end of the selected text being dragged. Finally, less than six months later, the left button stopped…

The best product at the best price. to win!

I've had several of these over the years and have always been happy with them so I keep buying them! I've tried different trackball sizes/shapes on a regular basis and while they've been fine overall, I've kept coming back to these. I've been a frequent computer user for many years, both at work and at home, and I find the shape of this trackball to be the most comfortable for me. They hold up well to constant use and you can't beat the price, especially when compared to many much more…

Good product, convenient and easy to use.

I had carpal tunnel surgery and have been using a different brand trackball with an EZSee keyboard for 20 years and have tried several computers during that time but my favorite trackball finally gave up. I bought the Kensington because of the price and because it was similar to my previous trackball. The design is a little lower than what I'm used to, but I adapt easily. I've been using it daily for a few weeks now and it hasn't given me any problems and I'm a writer (I work 4-6 hours a day on

Workhorse for big screen users

I've been using a trackball since the 90's when a design teacher introduced me to the Kensington trackball models. Ideal for large screens and takes up little space on your desk. No batteries and the only moving part is the ball itself. I had one orbit left for about 15 years and only swapped it out because it looked ugly after years of use. The 27-inch displays shrink to a comfortable size that you can navigate with your fingertips with just the slightest effort. I've never had hand cramps…

Very uncomfortable and the ball falls off the mouse too easily

To be honest I hate it. She hates my right hand more. I ONLY use trackball mice and this one seemed so easy that I didn't think anything could go wrong, but maybe after a week or so of use I started to feel the first signs of wrist discomfort. Tunnel. I don't know exactly what was so hard on my hand about the mouse (maybe it's also because I have small hands), but it was definitely a mouse because I switched to a different trackball at one point (same basic layout but different). design) the…

Kensington Orbit trackball without ball cage.

it has 5 stars IFF (if and only if) the damn ball stays in the hole like the old/previous version which wasn't optical (rubber wheels fail). whoever leaves it on the table is ok, i use mine with a laptop and the ball is always more fun than i roll on the floor. I will try to find a way to make a ball holder. Another difference is that it feels cheap compared to the older, heavier. then move on again. i.e. 1 step forward and 3 step back. The cheap feel isn't really an issue when placed on a…

An inexpensive trackball might work for you.

Kensington Orbit Trackball Mouse Optical mouse can be suitable for people with hand problems. The onset of arthritis and tendinitis greatly reduced the amount of time I could spend in front of a computer. Although I'm a longtime Microsoft trackball user, it has helped relieve carpal tunnel syndrome. I eventually found that even the trackball was not helping my arthritis/tendonitis. The Kensington Optical Trackball Orbital Mouse allows the user to "click" without having to bend their thumb or…

General Overview of Computer Accessories and Peripherals

The Orbit Trackball is a product that will remind those of us who remember the classic trackballs of the 80's and 90's. Will I still use a regular laser or optical mouse - maybe, but this answer depends on the situation (i.e. looking for pixels). Now if I were to say that this product performs decently in both everyday tasks and casual gaming. I've played Mass Effect I and had no problem taking out geth, but things can get quirky in other games like Civ: Beyond Earth. The reason I say the ball…

Looks good, ball rolls easily

Looks good, ball rolls easily, buttons a little stiffer than I'd like but not unbearable. + Right-click for a variety of functions - The ball rolls easily in all directions thanks to the way it floats on three points - The sensor is fairly accurate and with the right settings you can move the cursor around the screen and still be accurate when you select text or press buttons. The software offers many configuration options for this mouse. It doesn't cover everything, but there's nothing to…
