Excellent battery life for such a bright light

Great product. I have used Light & Motion bike lights for many years as they are the gold standard. Bought this for a recent trip to Kaui and had no problems. Not only is the battery life impressive for such a bright light, I carried the flashlight on a single charge for around 4 months and was surprised at how much battery life was left after such a long time. Great light if you plan to take your GoPro into a cave or other dark place.

Excellent light but problem

Ideal when space and weight are an issue on diving trips, the light provides excellent light for your glowing animals. The only problem I have is procedure/process. When you turn the flashlight on and off underwater, you can gently press the power button and the device will be in a motion-locked state. Once locked out underwater it was difficult and sometimes impossible for me to get him out of the lockout and sometimes I dived without camera lights as a result. Big problem for me. Use two with

High percentage of ERRORS! good for underwater lighting

We bought 4 of these in December 2017 but due to other circumstances we didn't get a chance to use them until we went to Grand Cayman in February 2020. All four failed due to flooding while driving. Three of them only lasted one dive. The fourth lasted three dives before failing. $129 each is too much for disposable bulbs. Unfortunately, our two-year warranty has just expired. This may be fine if you dive early and often, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who doesn't dive much during the…

great accessory for gopro diving video

great gopro diving video accessory. Costs money. Good battery life, lots of light and different modes really help to get the right amount of light for the water. We were heading to the Maldives and there was no way I would risk not getting a good video because I bought fake cheap lamps to save a few bucks. There were no problems with him, 2 dozen dives. I recommend buying/using a dive handset. This gets light out of the way for filters and knobs/mounts and where you need it on the camera.

Bought two Duo devices at Camera & Photo

This was my second purchase of a Sidekick Duo product. I used the first one on my GoPro Hero 3+ for about 3 years and had to replace it because I got the Hero 8 and the screws on the mount were too corrosive for me to remove the mount from the Hero 3+. The old and new Sidekick Duo worked flawlessly. However, the paint on the newer duo (purchased October 2020) began severely chipping in March 2021. I emailed Light & Motion and got a new light. I typically use light as a source to highlight the…

This light is a great underwater video light, love the ability to change the beam intensity and the wide angle of the beam itself is fantastic for wide-angle GoPro shots. The only downside to this light source is that it has such a strange shape. It's perfect for mounting directly to the GoPro's body, but since I'm using it underwater, my light source needs to be farther from the lens to avoid backscatter, so I have to mount it with my regular camera flash. I found a way to do this because I…

Compatible with GOPRO HERO 5

Three stars because I haven't used it yet. I will update the review if necessary. I'm here to tell you it works with HERO 5. No arm attachment required. Light in motion and gopro couldn't tell if they are compatible but I can. The photo shows a wetsuit for Hero 5 and a normal swimsuit, also bought from Amazon. I'm a little concerned that less than 1/2 inch of the screw actually goes into the body of the flashlight, but that's what everyone looks like on YouTube, so I think it's legal. All I can

Partially compensates for Gopro's poor low light performance

Gopro is a poor low light camera. After looking at thousands of shaky photos due to poor lighting, I decided to buy a flashlight. Since I primarily use my Gopro for iNaturalist rendering of the sea creatures I photograph while freediving, I wanted a light that could be mounted on the end of a selfie stick. The only real competitors in this app are the Knog [qudos] ACTION video light for GoPro and the SeaLife Sea Dragon Mini 600 underwater LED light that attaches to the Sealife Aquapod. The Knog
