I bought these poles to use for a tarp tent set-up. After using these poles for only 10 minutes, poles would not stay locked when adjusting, especially if not extending to full length. On occasion, you could get the internal locking mechanism to grab, but overall the poles just turn and turn and turn and turn and. . . you get the picture.Not happy with this purchase and I will be returning. Extremely disappointed given I am stuck with poles that are less than functional and no time to replace…

A good pole for the money. Just be careful not to put a big sideways strain on pole if fully extended. I think they could bend at the top joint if over stressed. I bought two and used them on a windy beach with a tarp attached to my truck. Made an easy to build shade with bungees to truck, 2 poles and rope with stakes into the sand. At first with poles filly extended and the ropes tight, I saw they were starting to bow. I slid them back a couple inches and it worked great.

It has a transport case that holds all of the components and makes it easy to move around.I use it for a quick break from the sun during the summer.In the winter it allows me to put up a tent in the rain at a leisurely pace and without soaking the inside while I put the rain fly on the tent.My tent fits perfectly under the tarp and it can also be used as it's own pup tent.

So far, I love it for the size, what comes with it and the carrying bag to keep it all altogether. We used it as a tent rain fly in case it rains unexpectedly at camp but it didn't rain so that test hasn't been accomplished yet; set up was easy and the 8 ft poles really made it easy to add a few feet of cover at the tent front if it did rain. It was worth the price but it is an investment as well.

I'm tricking out a van to be a off-grid stealth camper, and doing it in a budget. Going to use these poles to make a shade/rain canopy off the back door. Did NOT want to pay the outrageous price for a premade canopy! These pole expand to just the right height, have tips for the tarp grommet, collapse to a size that fits in the storage spot I designed, and have places to tie on stake lines. In other words, perfect!

I ordered 2 of these tarps for a recent camping trip - one 10x10 and one 13x13 as we were expecting rain. My plan was to put one over our tent and one in front of it. Unfortunately, we had so much wind that we couldn’t get the tarp up without the wind lifting it off the poles. I’m sure someone with better knot-tying skills could find a way to do it but for our space, the size of our tent and the weather we were trying to put it up in - it wasn’t worth the hassle. I used this camping this past weekend and it held up great in about two hours of rain. I configured it in the "tent" shape over my picnic table. I was able to sit under it and enjoy my coffee and book while it rained, and of course I didn't need to rush and pack stuff on the table away. Did is job when the reason wouldn't stop and my water resistant canopy couldn't resist any longer. I there this tarp over it and was dry the rest of the day. Better instructions would've been useful.

Great rain and shade shelter. This little guy saves our butts on those rainy camping days. It has lots of guy wires making for lots of versatile structures.

I liked the first one I ordered. Good quality, easy to adjust. So I ordered a 2nd unit. Unfortunately, the quality was not the same on the 2nd unit. We were headed out on a camping trip so I choose to fix instead of return it. I had to re attach the rubber foot and the adjustment collar on the 2nd unit.

We live in North Carolina and I purchased this to protect my dog from the hard rains that came with a hurricane that came through. I tied it to the corner of our chain link fence and it shielded her from the hard rain that we had for 3 days. A total of 15” and high winds. I did not use the poles.

I bought this for the center pole for an awning I made. This one is definitely worth the money. Compared to the other 2 poles I had bought previously this one is well made, very sturdy. It's a good buy!

This tarp with its great directions was very easy for one person to put up. Looking forward to using it as a dining fly on my next camping trip.
