These little men are fabulous (hint they're small because "candy ")

Negative feedback that the balls are small - clearly from people who don't knit. Maybe you can get a skein of regular yarn for that price. Candy meanwhile - Google images. These are small sweets (usually in chocolate). Hence this yarn is named. It's fantastic for accessories - creating flowers, etc. for decoration. It's wonderful to knit with. I make small Christmas decorations and pendants and flowers for hairpins. It helps to research the project you want to work on and then get yarn for that

These are Barbie Starts Knitting items.

Why haven't I read the reviews? Because I was in a hurry. I always (except this time) check what other people have to say before I buy. Big mistake! or maybe i should say little big mistake lol. I was looking for yarn for knitting on the loom. These are Barbie Starts Knitting items. It's more like embroidery floss or thin thread. And each tiny strand is about twice the size of a quarter. Here's a photo I took of the whole pack with a quarter on top of the yellow one for you to see. I will be…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • I'm worried

Of course, for a larger item, larger strands would be better

They're smaller than I thought (thought they were the size of Lily Sugar'n Cream cotton yarn) but they are still enough for a small project I bought them for. For a larger piece, larger strands are better, but for small, multicolored projects, this is great. Each strand I received measured approximately 2 1/2 inches by 1 inch. However they seem to be quite tightly packed (I couldn't get to the thread that usually comes out of the middle of the yarn so I had to start on the outside because it…

Tiny; very nice.

Despite the microscopic size of these skeins, the yarn quality is excellent. I've only used LB's Coboo so far and I hated it so I was a little hesitant to try them. They work amazing and they feel so soft! I have a nature that has a sports weight (2). I wish they had an option to get them in a larger skein as there is a color I would like to use as a border. Maybe, but I don't have enough experience with Lion Brand to know for sure! Be aware that they are SMALL. A little over a quarter. I knew…

  • A few minor things

Charming and tiny. Tiny!

They are adorable! They called them "Candies" for a reason - just like bite-sized ice cream, these tiny mini packets of yarn are just as cute. Just understand that it's not possible to bind an entire normal-sized project out of them. I see this collection as yarn for accent pieces like doll hair, knitted flowers or pom poms. If you notice that the project patterns shown on the packaging itself are just pom poms with eyes! I agree that the packaging size given in the photos in the product…

The colors are perfect; Textures can be weird

(I try to write a review of everything I buy so I can prepay for helpful comments and reviews from others. Some reviews are easier than others) They actually get more than what you think when you look at these little guys. Obviously they're overpriced but it's yarn and Lion Brand so that goes without saying. I've ordered Crayons, Beach and Celebrate and it's worth noting that Crayons are inexplicably thicker and "fluffier" than the other two. The images show that Beach and Celebrate are…

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

It's not about size, it's about quality.

To be very clear, I'm not complaining about the yarn count; I am complaining about the quality of the yarn and the consistency of the product in one pack. First, the yarn in my package is fuzzy and split. This is a very thin yarn for the intended sport weight; From looks alone I'd suggest it's closer to the weight of the finger. (I noticed another review called this yarn "sock heavy" so I'm not the only one finding it flimsy.) Still, the recommended hook size is 5.5mm - for comparison, that's…
