What an irony. The castle is a criminal.

Anyone can pick this lock. 1. Simply cut off a soft plastic ring with a pocket knife. Once removed, the other rings will slide. 2. Find the red dot on each dial and align them. That's all - the lock is opened. It's disgusting when Master Lock describes this product as "superior strength" and "hardened steel shackle for extra cut resistance". Shame on you. A cheap plastic ring is your only real defense against thieves.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Not the best design in combination padlocks

The lock itself was good, the problem is the letters supplied and how they are held in place when the lock is open. I had to buy several of these in order for a lock to have the correct letters to write a simple word. The product does not contain enough combinations of letters to write the very basic words you might need them for. Also, scrolls of letters fall off very easily when the lock is open, which is annoying when you need to recall a word when everything has fallen on the floor. Itโ€ฆ

Keeps your friends out of your locker when it works.

This is a lightweight padlock that will keep your friends from getting into your locker. The combination is easy to set up and runs quite smoothly. But: The spring that holds the end cap and stabilizes the combination breaks spontaneously after a short time. It keeps coming loose because the spring clasp - the little man - just breaks with normal use. It's not just my problem. Three friends with the same lock models had the same problem. This is obviously a manufacturing defect. Yes, Masterโ€ฆ

Not great for BreakoutEDU games

Let me start by saying that I bought these to use in BreakoutEDU game boxes. As a lock I'm sure it will work for most locking purposes. But for teachers who need to use specific words, the number of letter options is small. There's really no way you can make a word out of "double ee" or "ea" or words with two vowels unless it's "double O" and you're using zero. As I said, I bought these to use on the Breakout EDU boxes and now I have to repeat all the instructions because I can't use the wordsโ€ฆ

Looks cheap, hard dials, limited combinations

I liked the idea of a combination lock that uses both letters and numbers, but this lock is a poor implementation of that design. The wheels don't turn smoothly, they bind and rub against each other: you have to hold them with both hands while adjusting the rest of the dials. Each wheel has two protruding parts (which I think should make it easier to turn) and they get in the way when you're trying to morph into the combination you want. The biggest insult is that each 4-letter wheel only hasโ€ฆ

Despite the bad reviews, I love this silly thing!

I have a locker at work that I use it for. There are cameras in the dressing room so I'm not worried that someone will cut them and come into my dressing room because it will be on camera. Also, I don't think they really need my jars of sardines, protein bars/powders and supplements that I keep there for lunch anyway. It comes with three extra wheels and I love the idea that I can mix and match the wheels to get the wheels in the right order for my favorite words however I like. I wish I hadโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Received nuances

Not good. I bought it based on the looks and the price and skipped the reviews. This is something I rarely do and it was a mistake. There are 5 toggle switches and they give you 8 to work with. Four are numbers only and the other four are letters or a combination of letters and some symbols. So you can't form a 5-letter word without using a zero instead of an O on one of the toggle switches. Mugs have 10 numbers or numbers, there are 26 letters in the alphabet so you only get one of eachโ€ฆ

  • Great for me

Medium security lock, design could be better

No spring clasp, so need to input combination to close and open the lock, and after closing, all rotary knobs need to be turned to lock the lock. The dials move slightly when the lock is open, so it's annoying when you're in a hurry because you're at the gym on your lunch break :) The construction is cheap with plastic dials and the design could be better; The end cap on the lock body where the clasp goes in just slides onto the body and isn't held in place at all (it would be nice to see theโ€ฆ
