Classic Master Lock product

This is a classic main lock #3; an easy-to-beat kernel installed on moderately reliable hardware. Exactly what I wanted - more locks for my pick collection!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Where are the keys? c Padlocks and deadbolts

The locks themselves are strong, which is to be expected from a Master Lock. They work as expected. HOWEVER I knocked the value down because there is one key for three locks. That means I have to make a trip to the local hardware store and spend almost another $5 to get a key for each lock. It is not up to the master to think that locks are bought in several packages so that only one person can use them. You buy a lock, he must have a key for each lock.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Expensive

It's Master's padlock, it doesn't quite suck

Will it stop bolt cutters, probably not and no, but will it stop someone with a crowbar, probably not, and even a big hammer, but it's a good one Deterrent Lock Because it has enough weight that someone who hasn't intentionally prepared to break into your stuff probably won't be able to pick this lock if you're skimping on padlocks, it's definitely a decent lock to have around to get one, don't take it from them, not from brands at least

They're fine, maybe the best option

Bought to attach to a fence gate. They go well with standard fence gate latches so there is no problem here. They also remain locked, which I think makes sense, so that's a good thing. However, I found them very difficult to use. The key doesn't slide in and out as smoothly as you'd like, and the locking bar can also be a little tricky to remove/replace. I'm not sure if they don't handle the weather well (we live in a rainier climate) but they aren't as slick as I think they could be. So areโ€ฆ

Excellent customer service for a great value item

My stock of padlocks included two padlocks with matching keys for the keys provided but the third padlock did not work with the key. I contacted Master Lock through Revain's supplier mechanism and received a message within 24 hours that they would send me another lock with the same key as the others. They didn't ask me to return the faulty lock or somehow prove it was faulty - they just took my word for it. Part. Mistakes happen; but good companies fix them for their customers. I'm not sure how

  • great product
Cons
  • exchange available

Freezes below 20 degrees

I bought these in May to replace a 30 year old master lock on my shed that was very old but needed replacing. The new lock worked great and was easy to open. That is, until the temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Since it hadn't rained for several days, the lock was dry and I opened it the day before. When I went out to open the shed the lock froze and I couldn't even get the key in. The next day it was about 30 when I tried again and it worked great. I quickly threw it in the trashโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not the best

Good when used in the right context.

I am new to lock picking and thanks to a young nephew who insists on using tools without permission or supervision I needed a longer shackle padlock to secure some of the tools. Why mention I'm new to lockpicking? I don't have much experience, but even I can pick this lock in a minute or less. Opening the lock is not difficult at all. While the lock definitely seems solid and can withstand the knocks of cutting and grinding (drilling wouldn't be too hard I guess), I wouldn't use it to protectโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Repair

Good for what I need them for, but.

This set of 3 masterlock keyed padlocks is solidly made and obviously does the job I need it for. But. I have two issues with this product, both key related. Firstly, to say that this key and the mechanisms of all 3 locks are heavy is to say nothing. Insert the key and turn to open, pretty good. But to get the key you have to work, and I mean work. These locks are new now and hopefully the mechanisms and key will break so the deal isn't broken. However, the second problem is more annoyingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Thin
