Easy to use. - Padlocks and Latches

This is one of the best padlocks I have ever used. Difficult to remove when installed and closed. Compactness makes it possible to close the service box door with a lock and a tag attached to the locking device. Suitable for various circuit breakers, 220V and below. I haven't tried it on big switches so I'm not sure if it works on big buttons. Good quality and price.

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Does what it should!

This is a simple and safe way to protect yourself from possible injury when working on a circuit. It comes with several different adapters depending on the type of switch you have. I used it on a dual switch with a connecting rod. You just have to put it on one of the two switches and both are locked. The price is right, so it's pretty cheap insurance.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Minor problems

Perfect for padlocks and deadbolts

I needed a switch lockout for my RV panel as people kept turning the switch off because they didn't like the light we installed for safe driving and walking around our tent camp. The box fits the switch snugly so the ones with the screw didn't work as I didn't have enough room to put the driver under the lock. This was great as the handle was accessible in either position. Knowing that the switch will still trip when needed means I don't have to worry about fire hazards. Now I don't have to…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Faulty

Anyone can easily disable or remove it. It has a clamp to hold it in place.

Maybe something for a do-it-yourselfer? Definitely not suitable for industry. It's not as secure as it should be. It's more like the attachment point of a Lock Out Tag Out warning card. I'm not sure if he will keep the lock. Anyone can easily disable or remove it. It has a clip to grab the switch. The point you tighten can be tightened with a screwdriver, but this set screw is plastic and can't handle that much torque to securely fasten it, you have to tighten it almost finger tight.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Might work for you but not for me.

These well made locking clips hold the switch securely. They could probably be unplugged, but I think that would just as likely break the switch, so I think it's fine in that regard. However, in my application - a 20 year old GE panel - closing the latch activates the switch on the opposite side of the panel, leaving insufficient room to close the latch without pressing the opposite switch. There would be enough room to latch the switch in the on position but not in the off position. If you…
