This is not the best bench for push ups

This is not the best bench for push ups. The pegs are very loose and slide very easily, but that doesn't matter. My 1.5 year old can pull them out and push them through as he pleases (temporarily) but that's not the point of this toy. My oldest daughter had a similar but older Fisher Price model of this toy and spent hours happily banging on it. It really wasn't worth the $ even though it's cheap.

Really bad quality. The paint chipped and dripped.

Really bad quality. The paint chipped and dripped within minutes, a stick was pretty much attached to the piece that even as an adult I couldn't bang it with a hammer to loosen it, and the wood is so soft it's just dented all the way through 5 minutes. . It also has rubber grommets that hold the pins, except the grommets come out! Great choking hazard if you have young children who still put things in their mouths. Return for refund.

Pegs Too Loose: Toys for Toddlers and Toddlers

This is one of those toys that every little kid needs. I wanted to be durable, and Melissa and Doug have always been strong and good quality. In my experience, the hole diameter is uneven, with some pins being tight and others being loose. Well it's consistent but my 2 year old granddaughter pulls out the pegs by hand! that defeats every purpose and intention. I was hoping and expecting a toy that was tough and tight and could go through multiple kids (and maybe dad) without being too loose…

I am very happy with this purchase

This toy saved the day! My granddaughter was getting a little wild (almost sure she was tired) so we opened this gift up for her to play with. She sat there and pounded and pounded. I took out the crab hammer and everyone took turns helping her. It was my last thought of buying it at first because a week ago she smashed my kitchen chairs with a crab mallet. And this toy is exactly what she needs. I am very happy with this purchase. She took this toy home with her. but I will buy a second one to

Very durable, great STEM learning toy!

Great toy for every child! My 15 month old son got this toy and he loves the hammer, he's still working on his hand eye coordination. This is a great exercise toy, I love the simplicity of this toy. This is a great addition to all the other Melissa & Doug toys he already has. Very well done, already beaten and the paint hasn't chipped so I'm very satisfied! Of course that can happen over time but I really hope it doesn't happen at all as none of the other toys from this brand have broken. I…

Terribly disappointed

Very disappointed with the Melissa and arch product. So badly done. The colors on the pad were smudged when it arrived. The wood is very bad, if you hit a pin, if you miss (which a toddler will most likely do) the wood will "dent" and even snap off! The pins are too tight in the holes, making it difficult for an adult to remove or hammer them in. The pins don't fall straight when hit, they tilt a bit and then you have to keep straightening them. There is some sort of rubber ring around the…

The pegs are okay so far.: Hammer toy

So far so good; The pins are still resisting. Other reviews suggest they may loosen. If this happens and the pins stop resisting, I know Melissa and Doug will offer a replacement. Or a refund. I would change the design so that the pins are free to fall out of the bank when pierced. This is part of the satisfaction that the child experiences. But I understand the importance of this part of the design: the pins are less lost. BUT why not build an old bench from the 50s? No plastic parts, the pens

Perfectly made toy for little ones!

Pound-A-Peg is a very simple and well made toy. My daughter (8 months old) can hold a hammer, although it's a bit heavy for her, so she almost manages to hit the pins at a fun angle! happen and they are also completely removable. The posts on the side are symmetrical, so you can just flip them once the pins meet one side. The wooden pegs are absolutely smooth, my daughter likes to gnaw on them, the only non-smooth part is the hammer, the corners. Well, corners. It arrived with a red spot on a…

no problem to have

I give 3 stars for learning as it really is more of a physical toy. We didn't have any problems with her. Because it's wood, moisture and air conditioning will cause it to swell and shrink, making some of the holes bigger or smaller, making them harder to punch in or too loose. Of course, some kits may have manufacturing defects. We are okay. I believe the toy was designed so that different pins would be easier to hit and some harder for the physical work and mental aspect of hitting a lighter…
