Description of MICHELIN X-Ice Snow SUV 235/65 R17 108T winter
Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV non-studded winter tires are designed for crossovers and SUVs. The X-Ice Snow SUV model belongs to the Nordic tire segment, designed for regions with harsh climatic conditions. The Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV tire is addressed to owners of heavy vehicles with a high center of gravity who need effective braking and handling on snow and ice surfaces, increased mileage and low noise levels.
The original V-shaped tread design combines engineering solutions aimed at an optimal set of performance characteristics: an optimized block shape, an increased width of the drainage channels and two types of three-dimensional sipes with increased depth. This guaranteed reliable traction on snow, improved traction on ice and wet roads, and enhanced hydroplaning resistance. The tire tread is molded with Flex-Ice 2.0 compound, which remains flexible even at very low temperatures. The reduced carcass weight and optimized block layout significantly reduced rolling resistance, which significantly reduced fuel consumption. The performance of a tire decreases less as it wears out than similar models from other brands. Thus, a worn Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV provides more traction than any other non-studded tire with the same degree of wear.
Pros
Pros
- Quiet, soft, pleasant move. Quite a different feeling compared to a studded tire. Quieter than summer, but not much. In my size R17 the tire is lighter than the contiviking 7. Well balanced.
Cons
- The rubber hasn't been broken in yet. There is a slight howl after 60 km/h and as the speed increases, the howl increases. But the higher the speed, the higher the tone of the howl. On braking, the tone of the howl becomes lower. Sluggish response to the steering wheel on dry pavement at +10. 2 wheels during tire fitting had to be pumped up with an explosive booster. Soft side. Perceptible hydroplaning compared to the studded nokian.
