Great for home use, the only one you have

Great for home use. Pros: Difficult to burn. Easily measure voltage, field, resistance, capacitance and current. .Accuracy on par with everything else I own (between $40 and $150). I've found myself using it more and more, even for lab work. Disadvantages: Not very fast automatic selection of measurement type and range.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Excellent multifunction meter

Like! Great gauge! Accurate voltage, haven't checked everything yet, but it's a nice and handy gauge to hold. Like the additional temperature tester (accurate) and NCV (No-Plug Voltage Test), just hold it near wires, plugs, switches, etc. and it will quickly tell you if it has power (hot) or not! Much better than the tongue 👅 or the wet finger test method! Seriously, I love this beautiful gauge, perfectly sized to even fit in my t-shirt pocket. Although I wanted him to come up with a good case

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not sure

Slow, ran for maybe a month then got terribly inaccurate

It seems to measure about every two seconds so if you're in a hurry you can get wrong readings. But otherwise it seems to work quite well. It also had a quality issue - the battery posts didn't have enough voltage to make contact with the battery, so I had to bend them to get the unit to turn on right out of the box. UPDATE: after a month of brief use. , resistance measurements were far away. It shows 6 MΩ even if no probes are connected (see photo). Each resistance measurement is like 6 MΩ in…

Great accuracy - amazing value

This is an excellent multimeter! I tested its accuracy with a lab quality Fluke Model 87 and found it to be within 0.25% for both DC voltage and resistance. I have not yet tested the accuracy of the many other functions, but these first tests certainly promise good results. The reading display and general ease of use are excellent, as are the cables supplied (sensors only - no clamps). I'm an electronics engineer and have bought several multimeters from Revain for under $100 - this one fits…

Pros
  • Easy to read front panel
Cons
  • Legacy model

Excellent meter that gives consistently accurate readings and is accurately calibrated (compared to the newly calibrated Fluke 117 as well as the Fluke 87V). Current protection is also better than many cheaper brands like the Uni-t 61e due to the larger ceramic fuses and additional circuitry. However, it's still not a Fluke in terms of protection, and the Fluke is still a little more stable at times at voltage regulation values (bounces back and forth a little less than the Borbede BD-99)…

  • Excellent value for money

Fantastic service counter!

I'm renovating a hotel with a restaurant and I have to constantly concentrate on this or that device. This is a fantastic maintenance multimeter, it was nice to just turn it on and automatically recognize what I'm testing. Just the other day I was troubleshooting a washing machine and went from checking the resistance on AC voltage to DC voltage in just 10 seconds! Never had to touch a multimeter! This is a pretty quick read. A nice bonus was that it came with a carrying case and a really nice…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • All right

Don't bother with obscure instructions

Other reviews on this meter are good so I guess it was/is a good buy. So the biggest problem is that for those who have never owned or used an auto-ranging multimeter (not me), the instructions are incompetent and completely incomprehensible. Again, they're confusing and unhelpful, either in the unreadable layout that comes with the gauge or in the more readable PDF I found on Borbede's website. If, like me, you want detailed instructions, your best bet is to delete the instructions that came…

The price is too high given the rather poor accuracy and build quality.

. I have compared the accuracy of a Borbede BD-99 19999 (4.5 digit) voltmeter (this meter) to a WGGE 9999 digital multimeter using a Rigol 5.5 digit multimeter. In most cases (DC voltage, resistance, and capacitance), this $50 meter is less than the $15 WGGE. Only when measuring the effective alternating voltage did this measuring device surpass the cheaper WGGE. I improved the meter's accuracy by repeatedly rotating the dial in all ranges to "clear" the contacts. When the gauge first arrived…

Pros
  • Decent performance.
Cons
  • . Negative result available.

Save and be lucky

I opened the box and pulled out this crappy plastic toy. In fact I've seen grandkids playing with much higher quality toys that fit and feel! I put the battery in from the shelf because I was pretty sure it would be sent back with a sealed battery. Turned on - the display flashed - and it went off. Wonderful. But never give up! I took it apart and inspected it. I suspected that the switch's spring contacts weren't working, since pressing the meter would cause it to turn on momentarily. As it…
