Works as advertised, just a few annoyances so far

My wireless network setup with 64-bit WEP was successful, but I had to restart it again (once more than documented in the manual) to get it can see the network after entering the WEP key. The default media server couldn't import my music. All files have been "rejected". So I went to the NetGear website and downloaded the server software update. Voila, now all my MP3s are imported and working as expected. However, all my WMA or WAV files are still rejected with the message "Unknown codec" on the

Decent but not wireless

So I ordered this and unexpectedly found this $250 product at $30, got standard shipping, arrived in about 5 days, installed the compact drive at my desktop in my living room where i have a roadrunner cable modem and a netgear super g 108mbps wireless router so everything is fine then i plug in the player, connect the red and white audio cables to the receiver and turn on the netgear , and it says it found a wireless network, it found it, but when I tried to log in there was nothing but that…

Powerful and easy to use, but one important thing is missing.

I understand that others have had problems with this unit but I have not. It connected easily to my wireless network (using a Linksys router, not Netgear) the first time (after I configured the WEP settings), finds all my servers (MusicMatch and Netgear servers) and lets me use them play all, sorted by artist, playlist, genre, etc.) with relative ease. I have two computers on the network acting as servers and it finds and plays them all with no errors. I am using the latest software and…

Works perfectly! (November 2004)

I put off buying a digital music player for a long time because everything I researched seemed to be seriously flawed in some way. Including MP101. However, after looking at some of the latest reviews, I decided to take a chance and buy the MP101 thanks to the discount and super low price. All I can say is that I followed the recommendations of other reviewers and never touched the installation CD that came with the unit. I downloaded the latest server software and device firmware update from…

Works well in a wired configuration - download the latest software!

Now that I have this setup it does exactly what I wanted it to do very well ie in a wired network environment it transfers all the MP3 files I have on my PC hard drive via my traditional two-channel audio system. It has a number of limitations: does not support Internet radio, except for a paid service, does not support various protected data formats. But it does what I bought it for very well: it allows me to enjoy my entire music collection through my home audio system in an organized…
