From rags to riches - camera and photo

Had three dust-collecting lenses from my Nikon 4004 automatic SLR from the 90's. I bought a discontinued Digital Nikon D200 for pennies and all three lenses work like clockwork. It's more of a camera than I really need and I still have a lot to learn, but I feel like I've turned a useless device into a really good, professional-style digital device. For me it was theft.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Only available in black

Very happy with it.

Recently bought this as a backup case and was lucky enough to get a perfectly working unit with only 22,000 shutter presses. There's still a lot of life in this thing. Solid, solid construction and I love having so many controls at hand rather than digging through menus. The focus motor is built into the body, giving me a wide range of lenses to choose from. Это может быть более старая камера с несколько устаревшими функциями (хотя меня не волнуют видео, автоматический режим или сюжетные…

Great camera, solid body.

This camera arrived a day early in the arrivals window and I was frankly amazed at its condition. As this is a used camera I was expecting at least a few scratches on the surface, NOTHING that would indicate it had a previous owner. If I didn't know it was in use I couldn't say it just came out of the box. Very few shutters, perfect glass on both screens and in the viewfinder, this camera will definitely last us for a very long time. In addition, the body feels very solid as it is mostly made…

Excellent mid-range camera also in 2021

This camera has a lot more bells and whistles than I expected, but overall it's a great thing. It takes decent pictures and is a good little workhorse for what I have planned. These old semi-pro cameras take incredible pictures that rival most cameras you can use these days. New is not always better. This camera has almost everything you need at your fingertips right on the body of the device and isn't buried deep in menus that most of the time you have to figure out. i love this shop Pulled…

The photographer's workhorse

If you're serious about photography, you'll really like this camera. Not exactly for those who like to aim and shoot (although you can leave it on programmed automatic for great shots straight away). What sets it apart as a semi-pro tool is the ability to quickly adjust shooting settings using external controls on the camera rather than wading through multiple menus to get what you want, plus additional features like auto bracketing and virtually limitless control. over almost all camera…

Absolutely amazing camera

I received this camera in November 2006. It was a pleasure to use. Always great pictures. Incredible burst speed in frames per second, razor-sharp images, amazing features, quick access buttons for everything you need quickly, amazing metering and autofocus performance, solid feel. This is a professional camera. I've heard/read from many pros dropping their D2X and their 5D and using this camera solely for the simple reason that it takes great pictures and weighs half the weight. It also costs…

D70 to D200 like Yogo to Benz

Yes I remember Yugo cars although I have never owned one. But I know a good car when I drive it. Going from the Nikon D70 (a good camera back then) to the D200 (a more professional camera) was a revelation for me. The build quality of the D200 is excellent. The magnesium alloy and associated weight of the camera body make it clear that you are holding something durable and capable of withstanding harsh environments. Very similar to old metal body Nikon lenses from the 70's. The D200 has really…

  • Great overall performance

D200 - old body with Big Soul

My estimate may seem high but in 2020 this amazing camera can be bought for very little money. This is an AWESOME value if you don't need to record video or worry about live view and others just want to take great photos. With this body you are only limited by your imagination and creativity. 10 megapixels is a lot to be honest - print amazing 11x14 images and you'll be able to print more and still be great quality. Buy this body if you want a rugged, weatherproof construction, plenty of manual

Pros
  • All is well!
Cons
  • Expensive

Best damn camera of its time

Best damn camera of its time. this corresponds to a market segment that Nikon phased out before the D500 (maybe even then). This is for the enthusiast or serious hobbyist bordering on the serious hobbyist. It's not your mother's football cam. Heavy, reliable with physical controls and confusing even with instruction manuals, it was and is a great camera. I bought it used a few years ago and have never regretted it. Cons are simple things like no video, poor lighting in low light (didn't exist…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model
