Great for our purposes

Great binoculars. The quality of the lenses is very high. (We have cheap ones for comparison, same magnification.) Mechanisms are smooth for both focus and field, so it's really easy if you give it to someone else (or get it back from your friend or family member) . Match them to your eyes. The 8x25 is perfect for what we wanted to see in national parks, which is medium-close viewing where you can still see the entire waterfall, mountaintop, or animal from a safe distance. If you use them…

Great value binoculars

I bought these for my bird obsessed 9 year old as the old family Porro 7x35s prism he started with was a little clunky for his small hands and frame. In short, these Nikons are great! They are small and light (and suitable for small faces/pupil distances), have decent optics (good field of view and brightness with adequate color and sharpness), are durable and waterproof. Oh, and they're pretty affordable! My only concern is that the eyecups don't hold up well in their extended position (as…

Good optics, solid construction

Ordered these to replace a pair of 8x21 bucks that have never been dropped or mishandled but the left and right images are still badly misaligned and cannot be repaired. I decided it was time to get a "personalized brand" which has been very happy so far. Good sharp, clear optics and a minimum focusing distance of less than 7ft! Sturdy construction, slightly heavier than $30 binoculars, and the 25mm lens delivers brighter images in low light and a wider (8.2 degrees) field of view. Still…

Good quality with cheap accessories

These ultra compact binoculars have very good optics and the body feels solid. They do have some weight, but only as much as you would expect from a solid pair of binoculars of this size. The optics are sharp, razor sharp and exceptionally bright for such a small lens diameter. The cheapest part are the eyecups. Does not meet normal Nikon standards. Retractable cups are the type that twist to retract but are loose and flexible. Nothing forces them to stay put. A simple click on the eyes can…

Excellent binoculars. Almost unbelievable for the price.

I used to be a serious ornithologist but have recently gotten into ultralight hiking and still want to carry binoculars as a luxury/heavy duty. As someone used to $650 binoculars, I was terrified of what I felt would be an inevitable drop in optical quality when I upgraded to an ultra-lightweight model. I was blown away by the optical quality of these lightweight, tiny, fogproof/waterproof binoculars. Clear image, good light capture in darker environments. Considering the price, I think anyone…

Damn good binoculars

I got these binoculars to replace my Nikon Travelites which were my everyday binoculars that I took with me. I've taken them on every bike, hike, kayak trip. They are so light and intelligent. I wear a harness instead of a belt so they never get in the way or cause neck stiffness. When the time came for new ones, I decided to take the same 8x25. Then I saw these pioneers. Same weight, waterproof. I decided to try them. I've used them this week and they're basically as good as the Travelites but

Excellent hunting binoculars for $

Optically these binoculars are excellent. They have exceptional transparency for their size. I spotted a deer a mile away and could tell it was a thorn when I looked. Adjusted correctly, they are as good as my Prostaff 7s binoculars. They weigh 3/4 pounds. If you wear glasses around your neck all day, saving a pound or more makes a world of difference. I hardly notice them. What can not be said about my Prostafs. As for the flaws, I found a few minor ones. You don't have a tripod adapter. That…

Very nice, small and light binoculars at this price

Very good binoculars for the price (about seventy when I bought them) - great for travel or hiking if you take them as an 'accessory' . " or as a backup and they are not the primary purpose of your trip. If the primary purpose of your trip is to use binoculars (e.g. bird watching or similar) then these are probably not for you. I have them as lighter, more compact ones and cheaper alternative to my Monarch 5. Are they as good as Monarchs? Of course not. But they cost and weigh pennies and do a…
