These ultra compact binoculars have very good optics and the body feels solid. They do have some weight, but only as much as you would expect from a solid pair of binoculars of this size. I got these binoculars to replace my Nikon Travelites which were my everyday binoculars that I took with me. I've taken them on every bike, hike, kayak trip. They are so light and intelligent. Optically these binoculars are excellent. They have exceptional transparency for their size. I spotted a deer a mile away and could tell it was a thorn when I looked. Adjusted correctly, they are as good as my Prostaff 7s binoculars. They weigh 3/4 pounds. If you wear glasses around your neck all day, saving a pound or more makes a world of difference.
