A must have tool for testing and developing networks

It's free software, so it doesn't cost as much to use than other simulators like Cisco or Juniper ones that are paid for.It has many features which can be used in any project you may have. The documentation isn't very helpful at times when learning how something works but if your familiar with C++ then its not too difficult finding what you need there.I am currently using this product within my work place where I develop systems infrastructure solutions for our customers needs. We build out…

Pros
  • Its Free
  • Very Helpful Documentation.
  • Great Toolset/Tool support
  • Easy Interface (UI)
  • Lots Of Features / Modules Available & More Than One Way To Do Everything!
Cons
  • Some modules require Python knowledge
  • There is no easy way(or tools) available yet
  • The UI feels dated

Very flexible Network Simulation and Test Tool

It allows me to simulate different networking scenarios using my own custom protocols, as well as testing in conjunction with other simulators such as NS2. One of its most useful features that I like about it is how simple it makes things for those new to simulation or software development. The tool itself seems very intuitive but there are some more advanced topics regarding configuration which could have been better explained; this can be improved by doing tutorials/tutorials around various…

Pros
  • Easy setup fast learning curve.
  • Very nice graphics rendering capabilities

It is an open and extensible software engineering suite

I have used it for my college project,it has helped me to figure out how all protocols work in terms of implementation details. It also helps in creating virtual environments so that there can be better understanding of networking concepts. The fact that it provides source codes makes it very difficult to debug when required as well as modifying certain aspects which are not supported by it.I would say this tool should get some more features like WAN testing with BGP support. We use ns-3 for our

Pros
  • It is helpful during simulations or analysis.
  • Simulation run takes less time if you do many iterations at once;
  • You don't need an internet connection just using your system locally without needing much memory space while running multiple configurations/simulations simultaneously!
Cons
  • Lots o bugs
  • Not stable version yet
